S9 and me....making progress

Post by adksleepygal » Fri Nov 19, 2010 9:21 am

Well so far its good news, love the S9 for the QUIET ! Its also easier to breath against - not sure why that is. My AHI keeps dropping - last night sleep was 8.9 hrs and AHI was 2.4. Having a few problems with the new mask with pillows - last 2 nights have had a sore nose and I used the cream the RT suggested too. Any suggestions? Think I will try my Optilife Cradle tonight with this new machine to see how it goes. Still encouraged and still no morning headache - very dry eyes though. But I feel I am on the right path with a few bumps and I love the Opus 360 for side sleeping - no leaks. Found I was mouth-breathing a bit more with it though so last night tried your blue tape idea - tape was still on this morning with good AHI. Open to any and all suggestions - you have all been so helpful. Reading on here as much as time allows me and what a great resource!

Congrats on a great night with great results! What cream did the RT suggest? I have used the Lansinoh cream since my first night using pillows and have not had any soreness, irritation, or discomfit at all. I find the Lansinoh has a bit of tackiness to its texture and helps to get a great seal. Keep up the good work.... you are off to a great start!

Thanks Emilia,
It is called Ayr - it comes in a tube. Where do I get the Lansisoh cream?
I am willing to try anything that will help it go easier - do you think Target will have it? I have to go down there tomorrow - or just like Walgreens? - Is it with the nasal stuff? I appreciate your kind responses to all my crazy new questions - thanks !!

Lansinoh, or "nipple grease" as LinkC calls it, will be by the baby bottles, etc. It's lanolin that nursing mothers use. Walgreens should have it, and probably Target, too. It comes in a lavender colored box, and will cost around $9. Well worth the expense, it lasts a long time!

You can also find a generic version in CVS drugstores. Its a few dollars cheaper than the brand name stuff. Works great!!!

Glad to hear you're making progress! Like you, the dry eyes were a problem for me. I started using Genteal Gel Drops for severe dry eyes, and it made a HUGE difference. I also wear a wide stretchy headband across my eyes, which seems to help as well. Regular eye masks got in the way, somehow...Good luck!
