Re: Turkey Calls: Roman Hokie's machine making weird leak data
Leak's fine now. Had a record AHI last night. 2.0. Interestingly enough, I felt like I slept better.

Last night. 10:03 hours. 2.4l/m 95th percentile leaks. 0.1 AHI.
Feeling better. On vacation for the next 6 days. See how I sleep when I've been subject to a boatload of grilling and smoke.

Re: Turkey Calls: Roman Hokie's machine making weird leak data
7.0 hours, 0.7AHI and 0.0 leak. Still improving on my mind function (I think - I should ask my wife about that) and concentration. Feeling better slowly one day at a time.
Went up to the woods (Adirondacks) for a long weekend with a bunch of guys on a spiritual retreat of sorts and learned that, evidently, alcohol in moderation really doesn't affect my numbers too much. Also learned that, without A/C, the humidifier doesn't use as much water. Temps were in the low 70s when I went to bed and the one night, I forgot and "warmed up" the HH. Felt like I was breathing in heavy fog.

10 and seven hours. Wow. My toddler has decided, over the last few weeks, that I don't require sleep between the hours of 1-3am. And even if he did, I'd get no more than sixish per night.
My numbers are almost as good as yours, but what I really want is your total time asleep.
Give me your address, I ship my kid over....

I have my own kids, thank you.
On Sunday, my family joined several others at the Lake State Park where we live. After some of the behaviors of the other kids (particularly the boys), I thanked my wife for her TL. We have two children, "because we did not want three," to paraphrase Bill Cosby.

Re: Turkey Calls: Roman Hokie's machine making weird leak data
Only aware of waking up once last night. 0.2 AHI. 7.4 hours. 0 leak.
Still waking up with gnarly headaches and feeling like I've got a freakin' cinder block on my chest. Even when I'm standing. My appointment with my pulmo is next week. I'll mention to him. Still not as alert as I want to be. Falling asleep in the evenings MUCH less frequently than I had been before CPAP.
Sent my SD card into the RT for her to check out and make reports to the doctor. I think it's great that I have results before he does.
Took the thing on a business trip last weekend. 3 nights in a hotel. Nightstand was a big high, but lower than the pillow, so I was cool with that. Used tap water in the dishwasher safe tank. Been using it for 6 weeks so far. I'm not worried about a few drops of scale on the inside of the tank. Still working on my first gallon of distilled H2O, too.
I'll probably (for winter) spring for a climateline hose in the winter. Insurance won't pay for it, but I have FSA. Haven't used Afrin in over a month. Getting stuffy lately, but using Nasonex and Zyrtec about 6pm and it's working well.

Re: Turkey Calls: Roman Hokie's machine making weird leak data
My pulmo visit last week was funny. I spent more time on the weigh-in and SpO2 than with the doc.
Doc: So, you haven't missed a night and you've averaged over 7 hours of sleep each night. Really?
Me: Yes.
Doc: AHI is good. Rarely above 1.0.
Me: Yep.
Doc: How do you feel?
Me: Still improving, but one day at a time. I'm certainly well within acceptable AHI range and compliance limits.
Doc: You should be ordering new supplies soon, I think. At 3 months. You know?
Me: Yes. I'm getting a lot of irritation with the Activa LT. I may ask for a change to nasal pillows and use the LT as a backup.
Doc: Let my nurse know if you need a script for the pillows instead.
Exit, stage right.
At the receptionist/scheduler: He wants me to come back in a year. Do people REALLY not use these things?
Recept: what do you mean?
Me: Doc seemed surprised at 100% / 7hour average.
Recept: that IS surprising.
Me: I guess if they don't care about the money and, um, death.
Exit, stage right.

Re: Turkey Calls: 4.5 months and back to dragging @$$
Yeah, my AHI's good, my hours could be more, I think...
But I'm still feeling sluggish. I go to sleep around 10-11pm and set the alarm (generally) to 6:30am. I never make it that long. I wake up regularly between 5-6:30 about 4-5 times. Still with pressure and still hosed up. I don't get it.
Any help would be appreciated.

Have you thought about trying something for sleep for a few weeks. I am a newbie. Just started this week. I took something for sleep for the first time last night and was able to keep mask on and stay asleep for the whole night. My therepist recommended using a sleep aid for the first few weeks while you adjust. The first few nights I refused. Last night I tried it and it worked.

Hadn't thought about it. I suppose I'm relatively a newbie, compared to most here.
Thanks!

Have you done the other things relating to tiredness, thyroid, Vit D, and I seem to remember one guy here had a testosterone prob? It seems you've got the cpap working so maybe time to look elsewhere.

One of the things that stood out on my sleep study were the number of 'spontaneous arousals' that occurred. This article:
http://doctorstevenpark.com/reflux-and- ... leep-apnea
Made me pursue GERD as another issue that could be interrupting my sleep without my being aware of it (much like the OSA respiratory events) I started making sure I didn't eat anything in the hours before bed and taking 40mg of Nexium at night before bed, and I've noticed an improvement in how I feel during the day.

Hmmm... I loves me some Double Stuffs and Milk before bed...
Will consider my evening snacktime and squash it. Although, I've not encountered any reflux since starting therapy. Maybe I have it but therapy helps me sleep through it.

I wasn't waking up or having problems falling asleep due to acid reflux as I had in the past, but then again I wasn't waking up because I wasn't breathing either
