Ok, I was able to find my stats for the first time!!!!

Post by CindySue in Indiana » Sat Oct 23, 2010 8:08 am

So, tell me.....this is good, isn't it?? I'm pretty sure it is!

Used hours 7.2
Leak 12.0L/min
AHI 0.9
Mask :=)
EPR Full Time (what is EPR?)
EPR Level 2
EPR Inhale Med

I don't know much about stats yet, but I'm thinking this is all GOOD! I'm not sure what EPR is though....can someone help me with that?

The only problem I'm having is that the tube from the oxygen tank keeps popping off of the machine through the night. I wake up hearing it hissing into the room and have to pop it back on only to have it pop off again. It is hooked right into the machine....there is a place on the side. Last time I woke up to the hissing, I fiddled with it and found that this piece will rotate, so I rotated it so that the tubing is coming out the top of this piece instead of the side aned it seemed to stay put for the rest of the night, which wasn't much longer. But, I think that might be the solution. I hope so, cause I'm not getting the oxygen I need with it popping off like that! :=( Anyone else ever have that problem?

EPR is a form of exhale relief so you don't have to fight against the pressure. Some people like it some don't.

Maybe it is time to get out the duct tape?

... to keep tubes from disconnecting, of course. But, since its an oxygen tube, I'd make some more enquiries first.

Great results!

I'm actually feeling GREAT today!!! I had a "taste' of this back in the summer when I was on straight oxygen....before getting the sleep study and cpap machine.
I had a wonderful summer....was a different person!

Then I did the sleep study and got the cpap machine and the oxygen was taken away until they did an overnight oxygen test on me here at home WITH the cpap machine.
During this period of time, I started slipping backwards on the way I felt. I felt better than I did pre-cpap and pre-oxygen (like for years), but not as good as I
was on the oxygen for those several months! I could definately tell the difference....I was feeling sluggish again.
The home oxygen overnight test showed I was still dropping down to 82, so I'm back on the oxygen, along with the cpap machine.
And after two nights on the oxygen, I'm beginning to feel better already! I'm having a great day today and accomplishing so much!!!!
Now, once I get the oxygen tubing to stay on ALL NIGHT, I'll be even better!
It's just amazing what oxygen does for you...and equally amazing how it affects you when it's low. People who have never experienced this have no idea!
I don't understand why my oxygen drops, but I know I'm HAPPY to get my oxygen back!

LOL...about the smoking! Good thing that neither of us smoke!
We do have a gas furnace pilot light....hopefully that won't blow up! YIKES!
I'm really hoping that i've solved the problem of the oxygen tubing coming off. I'll let you all know!

Ohhhhh...now I get it about the duct tape! LOL!
Thanks guys! You've all been so knowledgeable and supportive. My family doesn't really understand it.
And YES, it's great to see the stats in the morning! I'm writing them daily in a journal.
