Sleep Comfort Care Pad-Large
Sleep Comfort Care Pad-Large
What stops one from sisscor trimming to customize the fit?
For anyone who has tried or used this item, does a leak start at the cheek level? (Where the device stops covering your tissue?)
I owe an update on my personal progress- as of yesterday I have had stunning success.
A personal thanks to all who have responded to my previous posts. And this one.

Hi quilted. Try it andre me know. I've wondered the same thing.
Re: Sleep Comfort Care Pad-Large
I didn't see anything about trimming it. I did see where they cost about $15 and should be replaced in a month. Have you looked into Padacheeks? Padacheek (Karen) is a forum member and makes cpap comfort items. She makes a nose bridge protector that can be washed and reused for a very long time for $14, and you get to choose from several fabrics. Check it out at padacheek.com or PM Padacheek.

Yes, they do tell you that you should replace in about a month and that concerned me when I got mine. However,I've had mine for several months now and am just beginning to see the need to order another fairly soon. Absolutely worth the money, in my opinion. I love it, as it totally solved my red, sore nose problem.
As for trimming it, I never needed to, but it looks as though it would be feasible.

I bought these a while back. I got a good deal on a lot of 5 of them. Try as I might I can NOT get it to work for me. It won't stay in place on my face while I get my mask on. What am I doing wrong??

I had the same issue at first. Here is what worked for me, you might give it a try. I always wash my face right before going to bed and after I wash my face, I run pretty warm water over the pad. You can pat it dry or not, it doesnt seem to make much difference. After doing that, I put it in place, holding it for just a moment and it does not move while I get my mask on. Give it a try and I hope it works for you...it absolutely solved that problem for me.Topsail Girl wrote:I bought these a while back. I got a good deal on a lot of 5 of them. I did not have luck with this. One night I wound up with a huge welt from it that took me a couple of weeks with no mask on to get rid of. I don't know if the thing moved when I was reseating the mask, or if the pressure of having to tighten things up so it wouldn't leak did it.
BUT, for those it works for, I had heard that insurance would pay for it. I don't know if it's true, but it was the rumor several months ago.

My INS pays for one a Month.
Re: Sleep Comfort Care Pad-Large
I use this product and like it a lot. It can help to stop leaks and can also introduce leaks. My strategy is just a lot of adjusting to get the leaks to stop, but the Comfort Care Pad helps keep the air from blowing into my eyes.Quilter2 wrote:What stops one from sisscor trimming to customize the fit?

As for trimming it with the scissors, I had an old one, so I got out a pair of scissors and snipped off a section. To my surprise, nothing leaked out of it--I was expecting it to be more of a gel/semi-liquid thing inside, but it was very much like snipping a piece of double-strength jello. Nothing leaked out, it was still just a solid piece.
As to whether you should allow the cut surface to come in contact with your skin, that I cannot answer.
