how much distilled water a week do you all use?

well I go through about 1 tank a week since the weather has been getting dryer and winter is just around the corner. During the summer I think I went through 1 tank in two months.

Hermit crabs are too dangerous to be at college? We have them as class pets in my classroom. My Pre-K classroom. And we let the 5 year olds take them home on the weekend to crabsit.

1 gallon lasts me a month. I use the humidifier every day and its set at 80 degrees

Crazy, isn't it? Then again, these guys are in shells the size of my fist and they can pinch pretty hard.

I use enough that I just found an old but never used Pure Water Midi D distiller and hooked it up. It produces more than I use (can produce 4 gallons per day) - but now that I have the distiller, my use may increase.

I use distilled water each day for:

* APAP humidifier
* nasal lavage
* essential oil diffuser

And now will also use it in the room humidifiers.

Current use is probably a gallon per week, but I expect it will double now that I make my own. And BTW - the cost of distilled water is not an issue. It is the convenience of distilling it at home and not having to cart the plastic jugs from the store. I would expect it will be years before the $100 I spent for the distiller is returned.

None - I gave up on it in February while I had pneumonia. Hauling bottles of water over snow covered icy sidewalks for 6 blocks while sick was counter indicated.

During the summer a gallon lasts 2-3 weeks. Dead of winter about twice the water usage but my wood stove is some of the reason.

Also, as a former college student, the threat of danger was probably the hermit crabs being eaten after the bars closed. =8oO

I fill the tank once a week and have water left over on Sunday mornings when I clean equipment. So a gallon lasts me a good long time (unless I have some ironing to do ).

Tony, Not sure what use you're wanting to make of the responses to your question, other than curiosity about the differences. I mean, I use passover humidity (no heat) in winter (about a gallon every 2 months, I guess) and no water in the humidifier at all in summer....Can you clarify the reasons for your question? Otherwise, the information we give is totally useless.
