Fumbling Newbie with S9 Software question

Well, I downloaded the software for my S9 Elite from the link on Uncle-Bob's sig. Nothing I could do would make my PC read the SD card, even after downloading the drivers etc. My DH tried it on his laptop without any problems at all. The PC has Vista, whereas the laptop uses XP - anyone know if this might be the issue? DH is a bit of a techead and he couldn't work out the problem.

Anyway, despite being able to look at the stats for the past few nights I've been on the CPAP, I have NO CLUE what any of it means LOL. I have SO MUCH to learn here.

The sd card ought to be able to be read using any sd card reader such as a reader that you use to download pictures from a digital camera. They are readily available at electronics stores.

Are you sure the data capabilities of the S9 Elite are turned on? If Sleep Quality is set to Usage instead of On, then the detailed data is not gathered and stored on the sd card if I understand the clinician's manual correctly.

Have you tried first inserting the SD card into a reader and attaching it to the computer to mount the SD card and then opening up ResScan to see if ResScan can find the card? That's what I have to do.

Yes we tried it all sorts of ways. The weird thing is we use the PC all the time as a card reader for various electronic devices like the Flip and digital cameras and no issues at all.

I am going to copy and paste your answer to him in an email home (he works 2nd shift and I'm already at work ) and see if there's something you mentioned that he didn't try.

I don't use your machine or software, but I thought I saw something about it not working with Vista and a 64 bit processor. Is your PC 32 or 64?

OOOps, that may have been Windows 7 and 64 bit..... anyway, another PC person who uses your gear will let you know.

Have you tried a different SD card? My Resmed supplied card was inconsistent and so i purchased a brand name 2G card and have not had any problems since.

I use Vista on my laptop and it works just fine.

The drivers are for the proprietary ResMed card reader and, if I recall, the proprietary ResMed USB connection option. Do not install the drivers if you are attempting to read the SD card in a generic SD card reader, such as any that came with your computer or as you would buy from Fry's, Best Buy, Radio Shack, etc. If you installed the drivers erroneously, then you should uninstall the software entirely, and then reinstall it from scratch, this time choosing NOT to install the drivers.
