Snoring with CPAP
Snoring with CPAP
I finally got a copy of Encore Anywhere and I'm doing great therapy wise.
However I snore a lot.
what should I do to improve my therapy in order to become snore free on cpap therapy

Re: Snoring with CPAP
Does no one have any problem with this?
Re: Snoring with CPAP
I'm only in my first week but the data readouts say that I'm still snoring quite a bit, too, even when AHI is below 3. I don't have any answers but I'm also interested in hearing about this. I have straight cpap at 14cm

Re: Snoring with CPAP
My ahi is also below 3. But I snore a lot according to encore everywhere
I asked my sleep doctors and friends what I can do about snoring and they said that it's really all about position and even with the right position and techniques to sleep on your side won't help much
They told me my throat muscles would eventually learn to not obstruct but that will be a long time from now.
I was trying to see what people of this forum thought and if they had any advice. I guess they might not have the same problem as us or they don't want to help me

Re: Snoring with CPAP
I'm not sure how to deal with this on a bipap machine as you have. I had a lot of snores although I think they were more vibratory snores than rattle the rafter snores. My software for my auto cpap showed up to 60-70 snores even though my AHI was always below 5. I tightened up my pressure range by incrementally moving the lower number up closer to my titrated pressure of 8. I now have a pressure range of 7-10 and my snores are often only 1 or 2, and my AHI has been under 1 several times since doing that. It has averaged around 1.1.
Those who understand the bipap machine should be able to help you more with how it might be accomplished..... I am sure they will be along soon. Good luck!

Yes, that blue eyed beauty is my cat! He is a seal point, bi-color Ragdoll. I adopted him in '08 from folks who could no longer care for him. He is a joy and makes me smile each and every day.

Star... it would be helpful if you'd post some of your reports... the detailed ones. Then we'd have a better idea as to what's going on.
Re: Snoring with CPAP
My numbers are good too and I still snore quite a bit although it's not near as loud as it was before therapy. I've been on CPAP since Feb 2010.

When I used Encore Everywhere I saved screen shots and I can post my full data here if you'd like!
Or I can post specific pieces of data if you wish as well. Whatever flits your boat toward helping me minimize snoring
Re: Snoring with CPAP
you'll have to find a place to upload it (a lot of us use photobucket as it's free). We use links or pictures here as there isn't an actual place on this site for upload.
Put it in a post with a title something like "Encore Reports for feedback"... and we'll see what you get.
