Breeze for sale
I have a new breeze with med and large pillows. I just got it from cpap.com a few days ago. I have tried to use it twice and it just simply does not fit me!!! I think my head is either too big or too weird shaped Anyway, I never used the med pillows and only used the large for about 1.5 hours and then cleaned them and the whole mask and put it away. I am looking to either sell it for $75 including shipping in USA. PM if you are interested. I do have great ebay feedback if that is a concern. My email is biggouda@yahoo.com if you would prefer to just contact me that way...Thanks

Wow, you give up easily.
Two days is far too short to give up, IMHO.
It can be a challenge to adjust and get the hang of.
If it is too tight after making all the adjustments including the plenum, then you may need to bend the metal backbone a tad.
I have had several breeze and have to occasionally bend a new one.
The very great majority of breeze users are happy with them.
Some are just not all that mechanically inclined to properly adjust it.
Give it a longer and more positive effort before giving up.
Go back and look at some postson adjusting the breeze or give me a call and I will help you if I can.

The breeze is an interesting beast, and very adjustable - I wouldn't advise giving up so fast, play with it a little more, and if you find a setting that seems ok, tape it in place so that it doesn't slip. I have my breeze at just about max settings on most things (I guess I have a big head) and it works fine. The only problem I found was that the hose going over the headboard of my bed tending to slip and pull the mask. To deal with this I used girls hair headbands (called scrunchies I think) taped to the headboard to hold the hose in place. That took the pulling away and the breeze then sat far more comfortably in place.
For me, the breeze is the most freeing of all masks I have tried - so don't give up - keep playing with it - you may find it is far better than you think.

I guess I will give it another try. I am already using a scrunchie on the headboard. My biggest problem is that if I put the straps down on the front piece then it pulls the nose part too tight up against my nose. I have read most of the posts on here about adjusting it and it seems that no matter what I do it either moves all over the place or pulls my nose up like it is trying to rip it off. If I get the the headpiece to sit on my head correctly then the nosepices hurts a bunch and vice versa..I have read a few posts from people saying that they couldnt use a breeze but they could use an aura just fine. I wanted to try a breeze because I tend to turn over alot and my swift doesn't work too well for that since the hose tends to push it to one side when I turn over.

HI George
Well, I've had the swift, aura, breeze and activa and all masks have some good points and some bad points ... the swift drove me crazy with its side arms and I agree it is a pain as you turn over. The aura seemed to be restrictive and I felt like I was working hard to breath with it.
There would be no way I would attach the breeze straps to the front of the nose piece as it would hurt my nose! However, I found that the key with the breeze was to get the inserts to seal lightly in the nostrils and keep adjusting them downwards until they started to blow air, and then move back until they seal ... thus finding the place where they are lightest and still sealing. Then, lying on my side I tend to let the bowl of the breeze rest on the pillow so that I end up not really feeling as if I'm wearing anything ... until I turn over obviously!
As for the firm head piece, use the straps to hold the headband in place and not the nose piece. It is possible to get the breeze to stay firm in place, but you do need to work on it and as I said before you need to put tape on all the joints when you get to the point it works ...
Don't give up ... if the swift worked, the breeze should also. It will be a little stiffer in the nares than then swift but the freedom it can give, sitting so lightly on your head and in your nares, makes it worth working with a little longer.

I find the breeze very comfortable, but it took a while to get there.
I use a little Ky GEL on the pillows. Then I adjust the nasal piece so it's feeling just right with no leaks. I used the large pillows because the mediums recommended by my DME just didn't fit right.
I also take a chin strap and strap it on top of the headgear. That holds it in place nicely.
My DIY mouthpiece seals the deal. I made a special mouthpiece with a plate attached so my tongue sits on top. No more mouth breathing.

Ok well, I didnt get around to trying any of these tips until 3 days ago as I had to go out of town. SO I have tried everything except bending or modifying it in any way and I think I can say for sure that the Breeze is NOT for me so it is officially up for sale this time....I am asking $75 including priority shipping anywhere in the USA. It comes with everything in the box (including the original box and 2 sets of pillows (large and med) The med pillows were never used and the large have maybe 10 hours tops on them. I sterilized everything in an autoclave so it is basically brand new..this is the new version with the extra front clip...My email is biggouda@yahoo.com ....I will consider all offers and possible trades....Thanks

You are probably right in saying the Breeze is not for you.
It is not for everybody.
This brings up the question that if so many people find it great, then is it the person or the mask?
Same for any product imaginable. The fact that in a bell shaped curve of distribution, there will always be those that cannot adapt to it and will have bad things to say about it.
If the total number sold produces a certain poercentage of happy users that will never be heard from because they have no complaints.
Many coming here do so because of problems. Those without problems have no need to look up a forum.
It is unfortunate that many people will judge any product on the bad experiences of a few.
The faulty one? Mask or person?

Re: breeze
Tom, I agree with you. I think most of the CPAP users that have settled in with their equipment do not visit this forum. I think the folks that are having problems are much more likely to participate in the forum. And, they are more likely to express dissatisfaction with masks and machines.tomjax wrote:You are probably right in saying the Breeze is not for you.

Fortunately, there are some who really seem to like the equipment and have made it a hobby and want to share with others, like members of a camera club or any other hobby club. I say 'fortunately' because these are the people that have been so helpful to me in trying to 'settle in.'
