That is an internet troll. We are calling you a troll because you have failed to give us the information we requested. We can only conclude that you are attempting to deceive us.

It seems suspicious.

If you had just said 'This is my problem, please help.' then everyone would be jumping in to help out. With out attempting anything that was suggested on the forum however, you make excuses as to why none of it is possible while claiming to have superior access to resources and contacts.

If you know a sleep doctor, than you must know that he has a 'Sleep Lab' and that 'Sleep Lab' must have 'Sleep Technicians' and I am sure you can ask him if you can go and visit with them on the premise of 'Learning more about sleep science'. I doubt your friend the sleep doc would mind and I'm sure the techs wouldn't care. You could spend the entire night picking their brains about every single question you might have but instead... you are up at 130am in the morning trying to convince us that nothing is possible. What is wrong with this picture?

Starone... if you're still reading this... Calist has been calling a lot of people nasty names ever since they got here and thinking that they were better than everybody else (which they clearly aren't). Please don't take what they say as the opinion of everybody on the board.

I understand there are shitheads everywhere. People that don't enjoy life tend to be negative personalities on earth.

I know that's not what the forum thinks at least I hope. Soo. What do I need to do to be meeting requirements for site?

Do I need to put more in my profile?

Hi Starone... glad you came back to give it another try. Thank you for filling in your Profile. Now....

1. Tell us how long you have been using your machine.

2. What are your pressure settings?

3. You have already rec'd help on the mouth breathing issue in a earlier post. Did you try that yet? Results?

4. Your AHI is really good already. Getting it lower is a crap shoot as every night will be a bit different. Mine has averaged 1.5 over the last month. Last night was 1.14 and the night before was 0.44. With 2.8 as your AHI, you are doing really well so far. I know you are still tired, but you need to consider the stress you are under as a med student. Stress and anxiety will certainly add to fatigue whether one has OSA or not. Consider some relaxation exercises, yoga, meditation to help with this issue.

Now, if you have only been using your machine a short while, it can take time for your energy to return. I am 5 weeks into my therapy, and I still don't feel energized. I do have more stamina than a week ago, but I am getting a bit better each day. I am a lot older than you so you may recover a lot quicker. Some folks recover right away; others it can take months or even a year to regain full energy levels. Don't give up.... you have your youth on your side.

As a college/med student, I suspect your diet isn't the greatest (understatement). Your nutrition is important for your body to heal, recover its energy, and allow you to rest and sleep. If you are living on Ramen noodles, pizza, and guzzling soda, you are not helping yourself. Even fortified cereal and milk would make a better meal, nutritionally. Yogurt, fruit, and other easy to carry/eat on the run foods would provide more nutrition. I know how tight budgets can be as a college student. Does your city have a food co-op? Farmer's market? You need to help yourself by regrouping and setting some healthy goals for yourself. Get past these exams and then move forward with a plan of action.

I understand your frustration for not having the software. I do hope you can acquire it soon to help yourself. I really hope you ask your sleep medicine friends to read your data card for you. Maybe you can mail it to one who has access to the software and they can email your reports back to you and then return your card. Get an extra SD card to two so you can always record your data. I am just brainstorming ideas here..... you have to make do with what your situation is and find workarounds for your needs.

Good luck with all of this....but especially your therapy and your schooling!

Hello,

1. I have been using my machine for about 40 days now.
At first i used other cpaps but it was extremely uncomfortable to breathe against the pressure. SO i got me a bipap and that took care of the problem.

2. MY pressure settings are from 6 to 17.

3. Yes i did try it and i felt slightly different...but i do not know what the problem is. (Thats why im desperate for software)

4.thanks, and i understand. I am also a hypnotist and i use self hypnosis in every day of my life to give me a feel of energy. Thats how i get by.

Thanks so much for being positive with me and helping me undersand this better.

About my med school connections....I got a free sleep study and a free bipap machine....i am embarresed to ask my friends for anyhting else...and there is no time..
I really would...it would be hard to find the time but eventually i would. But i can't ask for any more...you know?

The first thing that I would do is tighten up the pressure range a bit. Without software you will be guessing a bit, but you certainly could lower that top number down to say 14 and bring the lower number up to 7 and see if that lowers your AHI. Try that and continue to use the tape and you may see a difference. I recently increased my lower number up a notch and was able to get better results. My range is now 7-10. Others will be along soon with their insight on this.

Your profile shows you have a BiPAP. That means you should have a setting for IPAP (inhale) and EPAP (exhale).
I suggest going through ALL of your settings and write them down......and then post them here. There are lots of BiPAP users on the forum who may be able to offer suggestions.

You don't have to ask your school connections for a copy of the software. Just go there with your SD card and have them print your reports.
