new mask #3

Post by sleepymama » Thu Sep 02, 2010 5:23 pm

ok brought home another mask to try plus a chinstrap. it's called the respironics comfort curve. i know they don't make them anymore but i tried on soooo many today. i'm frustrated. the pillows i have are good but irritating my nose. i figure if i can do a nasal mask that works i'll take that over pillows but if i can't i'll just keep the pillows and keep putting stuff on the sores. i just want a good night sleep. going to try the new mask tonight. i am not sure what i'm supposed to do if i like the mask and they don't make it anymore. how do i get the replacement parts like the nose part?

I dont know about the replacement parts, but it took me a few months to "toughen up" my nose..

I didnt even know I could ask for another mask my dme was so bad.. they just sent me off with the opus 360 , and toodles!

so, dont give up on those pillows just yet! unless you are bleeding : ) ouchie!

If the pillows are falling out of your nose, I think your only option is to tighten the straps.

it's not all the time they fall out. sometimes they shift while i sleep and one will pop out and start blowing air beside my nose which wakes me up. if i tighten them more the pillows will go right up my nose lol

Well there is a learning curve to getting the headgear just right so the pillows are firm, but dont put a wrinkle in your nose..
Once it took me three or four nights of fussing to get my nose pillows to fit just right after I took the head gear apart.
I have also learned to arrange bed pillows to prevent leaks before I went to sleep, and I believe this is carrying over to my subconcious while Im sleeping.
Right now you are sleeping as you have always slept, without having to pretend there is a snowflake on your face you are trying to save.
Practice your pillow arrangements, I use three of them, and I hang my face between two
or hang it off one and put my arm around the other pillow.. if I turn over, there is one waiting for me to do it the same way..

Sleepymama,
If it works, they often have at least 2 on CPAPauction.com listed. (new ones)
hope that helps

Why can't you attach your new Comfort Curve to the SlimLine hose? The hose has a standard-sized coupling.
