Mask for small head/face?

Post by blschue@gmail.com » Thu Aug 26, 2010 7:16 pm

Hello
I started using my machine/mask July 24 and have used it every night. I have the Swfit FX Nasal Pillow mask using the XSmall pillows that I like. It is so comfortable that sometimes I don't even know it is on. Last week I finally noticed a difference in how I felt. I was waking up clear-headed and had energy... I can't remember how long ago I felt that way. But then, this week the pillows drop down below my nose and I wake up tired. I have the headgear tightened to the last notch and it is almost like the plastic headgear has stretched. I have tried tying foam to it and I have added an additional strap but the pillows still drop down. Any answers on how to fix this mask. Does anyone know of a mask for small heads? My insurance doesn't pay for a mask so it isn't easy for me to try out various masks because of the out-of-pocket expense. Thanks

It's possible it has stretched but more likely is loosening and not locking in. I find this at the end of each night the plastic strap seems to extend and move between notches. Some people have created velcro straps for the top strap. I tend to make sure the back strap is tight so it rests below the back of my head and try to not have the top plastic strap too tight, but tight enough for it to sit on top of my head and keep the pillows in place.

Hope this helps!

Thanks
Dave
