HELP! Machine says "Needs Service"

Post by svh » Thu Aug 26, 2010 7:02 pm

I just removed the humidifier, and now the machine blinks a needs service message and won't start! I tried putting the humidifier back on, and still get the same message. Anyone know any way I can get it working again? I know I can call for help tomorrow, but that won't help me tonight! I very much appreciate if anyone knows what I should do. Thanks!

Thank you, but unfortunately, that didn't change anything.

I have had 2 machines that started doing that. The first one I just threw away. The last one I still have. I figure it is worn out but I don't know what is wrong. I hope someone has an answer.

Hope you didn't get water in the cpap when you removed the humidifier...a quick death to cpap.

I don't have an M-Series but knowing electronics, usually what I would do if I get caught in a situation like this is to to plug it back in again and leave it unplugged from an electrical outlet for 3 or 4 hours. It's possible something may have just tripped when you unplugged it, leaving it unplugged for such a time will drain any residual power from the machine and might help.

If it doesn't it's possible the way you unplugged it might have tripped the sensor or it might just be the machine needs a service, I guess it depends on how old the machine is. My car did this should do it at every 10,000 miles, but something kept tripping it at every 1,000 miles.

If it's not powering back on and you're sure you have everything reconnected correctly then you could contact your DME or Respironics for some advice.

Hope you can get the machine sorted.

Thanks
Dave
