Hi all,
I have only been on CPAP for a few weeks. I started with the quattro mask which hurt my face, then switched to the liberty which I initially liked, but noticed soon thereafter that it leaks quite a bit. So I invested in a sample packet of the Remzzz cloths, folded one over and used it in the liberty for the first time last night.
Wow, no leaks, none. But, it also didn't feel like the air pressure was any higher than normal breathing (and yes it was fully ramped)... I got up once in the middle of the night and noticed the pressure seemed higher.
So my question is, does the pressure fluctuate? Is it normal for the pressure to seem normal and not airy? Or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks!

Re: Air pressure fluctuation?
Most probably you are adjusting to the pressure. Many new xPAP users wake up in the morning and think that their machine is off until they check it. The pressure begins to feel normal after a while.

I'm curious about your wording, can you explain exactly what you mean about 'folding one over"?PJ the DJ wrote:Hi all,

Re: Air pressure fluctuation?
Thanks for the responses. I do think I am getting used to the pressure, but sometimes it seems stronger, and other times weaker.
As fro the Remzz cloth, since they do no make one for the liberty mask, I took one and folded it in half and placed it across my lower lip so it didn't block my mouth.

A CPAP machine should not vary the pressure, other than the small drop on exhale from the EPR. I know that after about 6 months in, I could no longer feel the pressure. The only way I can tell that my machine is working is by feeling the air come out of the vents.
