HOLY SH*T!!! (a GOOD story!)
HOLY SH*T!!! (a GOOD story!)
I just got off the phone with my DME and HAD to stop everything and post this!!!
When I first switched over to this DME in April, I had nothing but problems with them. I hated them with a PASSION!!!
Well, my friends, I am here to tell you that hate has turned into LOVE!!!
I received a letter from them asking me to send in my Smart Card for compliance conformation for my insurance company. Considering we no longer can get replacement Smart Cards, I really didn't want to send mine in for fear of it getting lost in the mail, or, them not returning it to me. Also, even if they did return it, I'd be without a card for quite some time, and I download data daily and would be fairly upset not being able to track my therapy daily.
I call my DME to see if I can send them a report, instead of the card itself, or, go there in person w/the card and get it back the same day. The guy I spoke was FAN-FREAKIN'-TASTIC!!!!! He understood my concerns, and is sending me a new Smart Card to download the data and return to him so I won't be without MY card at all!
That's pretty good already, but wait, there's MORE!
I asked him to transfer our call to the re-supply dept. I've been putting off calling for supplies for a month because I didn't want to deal with the MORONS there that I dealt with before. A young lady answers the call, and she is also FAN-FREAKIN'-TASTIC!!!!! Absolutely ~ZERO~ problems ordering a new mask, hose, & filters! Even when I told her I wanted a different mask, and wasn't sure what size I needed. She said no problem, if I didn't like what I got they'd send me something else!
I can't believe the DIFFERENCE between this time, and the last time, that I've spoken with them. It's like night and day!
With all the problems we usually hear about on this forum, I thought you guys would enjoy hearing about something GOOD for a change!

that is fabulous! good for you, so glad you are being treated the way they should have treated you in the first place..
I recently changed dme's and OMG, what a difference..
Instead of dealing with a company run by money hungry crook
I found someone who is honest, caring, and professional.. Im now in love too!
I really had a bad taste in my mouth from my first dme, I had no idea that it was possible to find one who would go to the ends
of the earth to try to help you, and make you happy.. sigh...................

Funny thing is...my first DME was beyond GREAT. I didn't realize just HOW good they were until I had to switch to this new one.elena88 wrote:that is fabulous! good for you, so glad you are being treated the way they should have treated you in the first place..

Great story! having been in that business for about 3 years there are only 2 kinds of DME's local and regional s that tend to really tend to care about customer service, and the nationals...all about the money! I had the unhappy job of doing a few mergers with the one i worked for, from a best in class local/regional, sold to a super regional(1st decline in customer service) to a national...all about price no service. Find a good one and hold on...until they sell out.
i don't always sleep my friends, but when I do, beer helps

RNS..this has to be it. I had 4 choices for DMEs, three of which were Apria, Lincare, and Pacific Pulmonary. After researching on the forum, checking out websites and making some initial phone calls, I opted for the fourth DME (a local/regional one) and held my breath. I have a tendency to expect the worst to begin with. Did my homework, went in to my appointment loaded for bear and ready to stand my ground. Poof!!! not necessary. I couldn't be happier so far.

I'm beginning to think there's a DME fairy who has been sprinkling cantankerous DME providers with happy dust.
I just had a similar experience.

Hey, I'm so happy to name a bad DME (Crapria, Crapria, Crapria) that you should name the DME, city, and staff member to give them a pat on the back. Sounds like they deserve it.
I'd love to see some sort of database for good DME's so newbies would know where to go when they have a choice. Something updatable, so if the good DME sells out, then they can be removed from the list.

What if we had a sticky like up at the top (like the thread.. why is it important to have a support team?)
TITLE:
REVIEWS BY MEMBERS DURABLE MEDICAL EQUIPMENT PROVIDERS
???????????????...
If for some reason we couldnt post the critical reviews, at least a list of the best?
maybe listed by state? It would be great for newbies... I sure wish I would have been turned on to my new dme, and warned about
my first one! I cant wait to sing the praises of the new one! There would need to be a way to make it current.. maybe have reviews updated
every six months?

What a great turn around!
I think the idea of having a sticky thread listing the DMEs from whom we have received good service is a great idea. If we have to post the not so good or bad ones too, maybe it could be a separate thread. Sort of a thumbs up / thumbs down breakdown.

This is funny. Keene is on the western side of NH and Portsmouth is right on the ocean. I have family in Marlboro and others around Manchester.Amigo wrote:Gladly...Janknitz wrote:Hey, I'm so happy to name a bad DME (Crapria, Crapria, Crapria) that you should name the DME, city, and staff member to give them a pat on the back. Of course, I can only vouch for the service I received at their Portsmouth location.
