If you are a easily nauseated person, please do not read the rest ....I do not want to disturb anyone but I need help related with my problem.
I had an surgery operation (septoplasty) 4 months ago.
My nose is working like a air-compressor .There is no atresia in my nose any more.
But there is a small rip in my septum ( cartilage tissue separates the nose ) . It is about 3 mm .it causes incrustation time to time .The crust is simple mucus , filling the hole and getting dried by time.
It never causes any block in my breathing passage . Sometimes , I use 0.9 % NaCl solution to clean my nose . When the crust gets wet , it is easily coming out.
I newly began to use nasal pillow mask , and I observed some blood in the crust .
I am not sure weather it is due to mask or not. But it is obvious a small bleeding outcrops in my nose.
I did not experienced this issue with my previous mask which was a nasal one.
Is anyone has similar experiences with nasal pillows?
I have suspicion related with my nasal mask in this issue, because I observed inflate of my nasal wings, when I exhaled with my nasal pillows on.
and this expanding may be the reason of a crack in the capillary vessels of my nose.
What should I do?
Please do not tell me "go to doctor".
Because I am working in Afghanistan now and it is impossible for me to find a good doctor before 2 months at least.
I am waiting for your king contributions...
GOD BLESS

Re: nasal pillows and bleeding............
My educated guess would be the nasal pillows are the problem. I think with the "dry climate" in Afganistan isn't helping either. As long as the "bleeding"is slight and just a crust I would think that it is not doing any "damage". The good thing is the mucous is clear~ so no infection.Daily cleansing with saline should help, but maybe you need to go back to the nose mask until it's had more of a chance to heal.

Re: nasal pillows and bleeding............
I've had a septoplasty surgery and previously suffered daily nose bleeds since starting on CPAP. I had my nose cauterized to stop the bleeding but still occasionally get some blood spotting.
I find that a saline nasal irrigation system such as this helps alot

Re: nasal pillows and bleeding............
In addition to the recommendations to use saline nasal irrigation and perhaps using a different style of mask for a few days to allow the area to heal, you might try turning your humidifier level up a bit. It sounds like there may be too much drying in your nasal passages.
