Help with Full Face Mask

Post by mustang66 » Sat Aug 14, 2010 11:18 pm

Hi Everyone,

I can't seem to find a mask that works for me. Well all I have tried is the Fisher Pykel full mask. What else is out there.

Thanks

Hi Mustang66,

Here is a link to my video blog, I just posted an episode that reviews four of my favorite masks the Resmed Quattro, Resmed Liberty, Hans Rudolph and the Respironics Fullife masks. Let me know if you have any questions. We have an ask feature on the site don't be afraid to use it. Hope this will help.

Mask choice is an extremely personal thing, kind of like finding the right shoes. What works for one might not work for another. If you could be more specific about the problems you're having we could probably be more help.

The Activa is my favorite mask - - - - so far.

1. It is light
2. It doesn't push my upper teeth posteriorly (like the Mirage gel)
3. I like the way it balloons up to meet the face contours.. forms a good seal. The trick is to not overtighten the mask. Adjust it when it is fully inflated.

HOWEVER, the straps are poor. The circumferentials aren't long enough and the top strap can flip off the head. The verticals need to be shorter or adjustable, and the mask straps longer. A person of authority at ResMed said that a revision is being developed.

AND the exit gas ports blow on my hands, but ResMed told me that they are working on a modification.
