tidal volume, avaps question

Post by vikingblade » Thu Aug 12, 2010 5:39 pm

ive recently received my encore software results from the last week of therapy. i had a few questions regarding respironics avaps results, settings. in particular, im confused about tidal volume results...

im showing an average tidal volume of like 700.. and my average ipap pressure is 19. ive seen other posts by folks like banned, who have used the avaps, and at the same avg ipap pressure..his tidal volume is in the mid 500's.

is there other variables other than ipap pressure that greatly impact the tidal volume?

i do use a low epap..5, because of neuromuscular disease, respiratory weakness. so...i do have a large gap between epap and ipap. didnt know if that could be a factor. i can provide other settings info if anyone would like more info..

thanks for the input

Also... can using the avaps while awake screw up the recorded apnea data?

is there instructions anywhere online that explains how to correctly read the encore results.. since i send it out to dme..i cant do it nightly[which would simplify things] so, im not seeing apnea counts by the day, just average apnea count.
