What influences the AHI?

Post by Zelman » Mon Aug 09, 2010 1:38 pm

I've been getting typical AHI readings of 3.0 to 4.0 every night, for about 8 hours of sleep. I tried to reduce this by quitting caffeine, exercise, early to bed, blah blah. Yesterday though, I thought "ah, so what", and indulged in an evening of Scotch, pizza, sex, and a vampire movie. Promptly, my AHI went down to 0.9. Is it relaxation-related?

still giggling.... Yes, I think relaxation probably helps a lot. And your story also points out the need to have a sense of humor and maybe not being so pre-occupied with it all. Thanks for the chuckle.
Yes, that blue eyed beauty is my cat! He is a seal point, bi-color Ragdoll. I adopted him in '08 from folks who could no longer care for him. He is a joy and makes me smile each and every day.

It also helps if your pressure setting is correct, too.

Sometimes those other things help and sometimes they don't. (although sex USUALLY does)

Hi,

Many of the regulars here say that you should try something for a week to 10 days before trusting the results. As a result, you might want to head to the liquor store and stock up. You are going to need more Scotch to test this theory.

You should not try 4 changes at the same time. Maybe one of those is bad. So start with sex only.
