Encore pro

Hi All
I have encore pro ver.1.4i rev.4.with the infineer smart card reader.(usb)
Win.xp home.the problem I'm having with the encore pro software is i can't change the settings from serial to usb in the preference window. The smart card is loaded properly and is recognized by windows so I think the problem is in the encore pro software .Any help would be appreciated.Thanks Jim

Had the same problem and it drove me nuts for an hour or so. Then I found the step-by-step installation instruction posted by collegegirl, and, in reading it, discovered that I had missed a key step. There is a folder on the cd-rom that has the drivers in it that have to be installed in order for the USB to be recognized. I don't recall the name of the folder, but it is intuitive once you know that the folder is there. If someone doesn't give you a more detailed, specific reply, either look for that folder on your cd-rom and install the drivers, or find the instructions posted here by collegegirl because it has the folder name listed.

BTW, I forgot to mention the obvious -- there is a whole section dedicated to Encore Pro installation issues in the FAQ section.

Thank you for jarring my memory. I original loaded the drivers from encores web site and placed them in a folder on the desk top.I loaded the files from the disk and everything works now. Thank you
