I am wondering if this has happen to others who exercise late in the evening. Went to the gym at 10pm for a quick workout, and I was wired until 1am. I could not sleep and hence a lousy sleep didn't wear my mask all night. I also play hockey late 2 evenings a week with the same effect.
Has anybody found a workaround to get your body to relax after exercising late. Any tips. My hockey is one of main sources of exercise.

It's generally advised not to work out late (and it seems a shame to try and get rid of good work out energy just to go to sleep). Can you not exercise at another time (like early a.m.)?

I have read in several places that late night exercise is not a good idea in general, but also I've found opposite information ... In my case I also exercise late a night everyday (1 hour vigorous trendmill) and I don't have any problem with my sleep, matter of fact I felt asleep more easily I think.

As a general rule, it's not the best time to work out.
Having said that, I've been doing it for over 30+ years - I either swim laps or do stationary bike & light weights nightly btw 7 pm to 9 pm. The key for me is moderation and acclimation - for example, i swim 30 minutes at moderate pace, no problems with lights out by 11:30 pm. If I extend myself - either longer time or more rigorous pace, I get wired up and like you stay up past mid-night. You just need to fine-tune yourself.
Re: Late night exercise and CPAP therapy
I try not do strenuous exercise - i.e. cardio- past 9pm, with an 11 pm bedtime. I do my main workout in late afternoon ( maybe an hour before dinner) in the morning or just before lunch and lighter exercises (stretching and range of motion) after dinner but before about 9 pm.
That works well for me and I usually fall asleep within minutes of hitting the pillow.
Of course, I am retired and my schedule is much more flexible than when I was working!

Thanks for all the responses
It seems a general consensus that late night exercise is a no-no. I am going to have to tailor something as my wife and I work a late schedule so we do not get home from our commute from work until 7pm etc.. So by the time dinner is done, it is 8.30pm then a walk or I have my sports in the evening. The hockey was a way to get the exercise without thinking it was exercise.
Doctor has given me some RX for sleeplessness but I am very worried about getting addicted to these pills.
I could be in a catch 22. Want to exercise and get fit, but this will interfere with my therapy
