Unfortunately, I don't yet have any experience with Encore 2.x

Re: Encore Pro 2/Uninstall-install
Is it Encore Pro or SQL Server that is behaving like it is already installed?

Re: Encore Pro 2/Uninstall-install
Encore Pro 2 uses Microsoft SQL Server 2008. EP 1.8i used SQL 2005.

Re: Encore Pro 2/Uninstall-install
SUCCESS....I unistalled the microsoft SQL server 2008. Restarted computer and reinstalled EP 2.3 and I am now up and running again. WHEW What a chore. Lol thanks for all the help and patience. Is there a reason I would/should reinstall microsoft SQL server 2005 that I previously uninstalled?

Re: Encore Pro 2/Uninstall-install
I've had ALL sorts of problems with installing EP 2.2 and EP 2.4 64-bit version on Windows 7 Home Premium.
I got the traditional SQL server failed to installed. So, I uninstalled it and rebooted my computer. Then I tried to reinstall, but I got the same error. So I repeated the uninstall of the software and SQL server and rebooted again. Then I tried to reinstall, but this time I used the advanced box. In noticed that no matter what I did the SQL server would not accept my userid, even though it's an administrator user. That puzzled me. It has all the rights of an administrator. What's wrong with this userid? Why can't it succeed in authenticating to the SQL server?
Anyway, eventually SQL server FAILED to uninstall, so I am either faced with a manual uninstall, which means I have to find the relevant article HOWTO or a complete system reinstall, which is not so bad an option, though I'd prefer to do the former and SUCCEED in installing EP 2.4 and THEN do the system reinstall so I'd know how to reinstall EP 2.4 from scratch.
Right now it's a mystery, but not a good one. Can any computer savvy people shed some light on this mystery for me, please?
Thanks,
Kortez
