If machine NOISE bothers you

Post by BP » Sat Nov 05, 2005 12:53 pm

A lot of us are sensitive to the noises that our machines make. What I found works fantastic for me, if you can tolerate ear plugs, is getting a pair of hearos ear plugs. You can get them a your local drugstore. You must insert them properly to work, but when they do they eliminate noises, and are very comfortable. With them in I can't even hear my machine. It's great!!

Good luck,

I agree! The machine sounds don't normally bother me...I think of them as soothing white noise, kind of like the surf lulling me to sleep in a comforting way (ok ok I'm from Ohio, what do I know about surf?). Initially the couple nights I was feeling irritated and noticing the sounds, I found some old soft spongy ear plugs and they did work beautifully.

I just plug in my iPod and 9 nights out of 10 I fall asleep with the earbuds in my ear. xPAP noise - what xPAP noise? Also, the Escape 8 is very quiet.

My remstar doesn't make any noise at all, it is very quiet. My swift is also very quiet unless I don't have it put back together correctly which occasionally happens. The only noise is from the blowing air hitting my pillow and just a small adjustment in how I sleep takes care of that. However, I do have an air purifier in my room that emits a "white" noise and I can't sleep without it running. Had to get used to those white noises (and earplugs) when I used to work nights at the hospital and now I still rely on them.
