It seems no matter how tight I sinch this nasal mask if I lay on my side just right the air leaks out. I've tried two different masks and the same thing happens. The one I'm using now I believe is called the Respironics profile lite gel mask. I've tightened it so much that today I have a big bump in the middle of my forehead where the gel rest is. Any suggestions?

Leaky mask problems.
Hi, shundiman.
Instead of tightening them to the max, have you tried loosening the masks?
I'm pretty new at this, but I'm beginning to trust that "less is best" is an approach that just might work when adjusting one's headgear.
Mind you, I've still not found a good adjustment for my Ultra Mirage Full-Face. Thus, my philosophy about trusting "less is best" may be simple foolishness!
Good luck--

Hi Shundiman,
Is it possible for you to try some other types of masks? It is possible that the mask that you are currently using doesn't fit your face properly. I know, from experience, that it can take time to find a mask that fits properly. Hang in there, hopefully you can find one quickly!

Shundiman- ditto what was said about trying different masks. I looked yours up and it looks a lot like my first mask - the Comfort Gel. It was anything BUT comfortable and I found that in order for it to seal, the straps did need to be fairly tight. I've had lots of problems with leakage as well and am now using the Activa. Every now and then I will get one, usually towards the bottom corners but it just takes a very quick adjustment---nothing like I experienced before. I did a lot of reading on this board before I got it and several said the Activa is a good one. We're all different and what works for one, won't for another but I second the idea of trying something different. Leaks can be extremely frustrating and when you have to adjust the mask so tightly, it's just NOT comfortable. Keep posting to let us know how you're doing!!

Definitely try other masks.
What may work for one may not work for another.
We have to do trial and error until we find a comfortable fit and a mask that doesn't leak.
