Booze Bet and Question

Post by snoreking » Sun Oct 30, 2005 6:01 am

I have just started using Encore Pro to see if the SW will confirm what about ten years of "body wisdom" has taught me about a nights rest with an Apap or Cpap.
I only have five nights of data so far. BUT, my prediction is that there is a significant impact on many of the performance stats on nights that I have consumed alcohol versus nights that I have not.
Here is the bet -- optimal performance will result when I have a glass of wine or two. An excess of grape juice (vino) or beer or liquor will make matters worse-- especially on the snore index-- but one or two drinks are actually better than no drinks.
Because of the impact on throat muscle tissue relaxtion, I should mention that I had the UUP surgery several years ago.
I will confirm or revise my prediction when I have enough data points to be meaningful. Meanwhile, anybody else tracking their results against their alcohol consumption?

Interesting thought. I haven't been tracking my results that closely, but if I find time in my busy life I think I will.

Please post your results when you have them.

Sounds like an interesting bit of research. I will get right on it and start tonight..

Damn shame I don't have the software.
But the alcohol consumption bit I can handle!
WooHoo! Life is good.
I get a little cocky when I am "NO LONGER TIRED"

My own research into this led me to similar conclusion.

One glass of wine is fine
Three glasses are usually detrimental

I just haven't quite got enough info re the 2nd glass to be sure

But humour aside, a heavy nights partying is not as bad the next day if xPAP is applied. And this is where an AUTO comes into its own as a therapy device

I find that a nice glass of Cab, Zin, or whatever makes me a bit more tolerant to the whole gamont of CPAP. However, if I cross the line and exceed the two glass limit than my numbers are all out of whack. More snores, apneas, etc.

Drink responsibly no matter what you do. Driving, living and sleeping with an apparatus on your face that is recording everything you do.

Record your everyday life and judge that. Then and only then judge what you should not do.

I have had a few tonight during my Halloween party so if I have bad numbers in the morning, guess what? It's my own damn fault.(Buffet)

Tonight...........not so Slpyhed ooooooooooooo those are bubbles from the Bubbly

Good night all
