S8 escape II data?
I recall vaguely that S8 Escape II collects some data, but what?
Does it collect detailed data?
Does anybody happen to have the clinical manual?

Re: S8 escape II data?
As far as I know, Resmed Escapes only show compliance data, that is how long and how often you used it. There is no detailed data.
For detailed data you need an Elite or an Autoset in Resmed machines.

Re: S8 escape II data?
I think S8 Escape II collects something more, and it comes with a memory card.
I'm asking this for helping a friend. His mean clinic only gave him S8 Escape II and set it to minimum pressure
because "It's automatic, It doesn't need pressure settings".
(I already contacted the hospital about that next-to-abuse.)
I myself have S8 Autoset Spirit (I).

Re: S8 escape II data?
So does anyone remember if S8 Escape II collects detailed data?
Does anyone even remember S8-series ?

Re: S8 escape II data?
Even though the S8 Escape 11 has a card, I am pretty sure that there is no detailed data available.
Your friend is being given incorrect information all round.
Anyone confirm or correct that information?

Re: S8 escape II data?
I have the S8 Escape II machine and as far as I know the card will collect the things like leakage and that sort of stuff but I think the things the card can collect is limited. I don't think this machine has the detailed stuff like a lot of the other machines do. This is a very basic type of a machine. Mine is on the setting of 7 and I'm not a data junkie . I figure as long as it helps me, then I'm fine with it. One of these day tho I would like ot get the software and reader box so I can do all that myself, but I tihnk you have to have a script from the Dr to get that stuff. And it is a bit expensive for my taste. Have a great day, Huggies, Fay.............They did my compliance on the V auto set 25 machine and I loved that machine as I could get the on screen data and could see the leaks and all the other stuff that I don't understand. I wish they had done my compliance on the Escape rather the the V autoset 25 as it shows just the amount of hours and days of usage on that machine. Grrrr... But that's fine. It works fine for me
Re: S8 escape II data?
Sorry, Fay. Your machine (Escape II) won't record anything more than hours used. Leak information is one of those aspects of "detailed data" that's only available in the Elite or Auto machines.base2balls wrote:I have the S8 Escape II machine and as far as I know the card will collect the things like leakage and that sort of stuff but I think the things the card can collect is limited. Do you mean that they only gave you a "compliance" report on the VPAP Auto 25? There should have been more data available to be seen.

Re: S8 escape II data?
Turbosnore, there are two S8 Escape II machines. One is the S8 Escape II CPAP (fixed pressure), and the other is the S8 Escape II Auto (varies pressure). You need to determine which machine your friend has.
The S8 Escape II CPAP only reports compliance data. The S8 Escape II Auto reports only AHI and 95th centile pressure--no leak data and no breakdown of AI and HI.

Re: S8 escape II data?
Thanks people.
I'm afraid I have to break him the bad news, because he said something about constant pressure.
From the name I'd guess that the Auto-version is APAP. Right?
I'll ask him tho'.
So how do you change the pressure then? "Down Right" to the menu?
Just pisses me off, when over 60 years old guy has AHI over 30 with mask on, they insisted that the pressure stays 6-20 (autoset).
Then they gave him that S8 Escape II probably because he dared to change the pressure.
It wasn't titration even if from the situation description you might think so.
The politics of setting pressure 4 to 20 (6 - 20 if the patient feels suffocation with 4) was set by the (what's it in english) head doctor of the unit.
They know that the algorithm is often too slow to treat the apneas, but in that case, "The form of treatment isn't suitable for such people".
Get that!
