S9 slim line tube still not dry after a week

Post by sleepergal » Sun Jun 06, 2010 1:57 pm

I received my S9 apap last week and it's ready to go. Unfortunately, the slimline tubing just doesn't seem to air dry completely (and I live in California so humidity isn't the problem). I cleaned it over a week ago and gently shook as much water out as possible before hanging it to dry. A week later, it still has water droplets all over inside. It doesn't look like it has grown mold or anything yet but now I think I should probably wash it again and let it dry again.

I would really appreciate drying tips from anyone out there who is using the S9 slimline tubing.

Mine took several days to dry also, and that was in AZ, humidity 20%.

I did a final rinse with distilled water, so whatever water droplets were left, would be fine. I also hung it over my room air purifier, so there was more air circulation. You could try a hair dryer on warm or cool.

Don't hang it in the sun though.

carefully attach the tubing to your cpap and turn the unit on with the pther end of the tubing into a trash can or sink.

Attach it to the machine, turn it on for a few seconds and then off again... the machine will go through a cool-down cycle where it blows air through it at a light level for about an hour. This is assuming you have the humidifier attached--I don't think it does the cool down without the humidifier attached.

Why would you feel the need to dry it out in the first place? You're going to be putting humidified air (moisture) back through it when you hook it up and use it.......that's the purpose of using a CPAP humidifier.
