I FULLY attribute "the great strides" to this forum. I find it very encouraging and informative, with everyone more than willing to help out. Can you imagine how great it would be if EVERY DME supplier referred users to this board?

I would rather see the sleep docs referring patients to the site. Just think how much success rates would improve if patients walked into this therapy with good information about what to expect, how to fit a mask, the differences in the types of interfaces and the best type of machine for them. It wouldn't allow DME to just bull people over and stick them with whatever equipment that they want to get rid of!

Information is power, power to the patient! (Sheesh, I sound like some sort of radical! )

I agree. Before I was issued my CPAP, I was expecting it to be a miracle cure that just by turning it on, and using it, overnight my problems would be solved!

When I found the site, I realized that it may take a little adjustment period, I may have to try different masks, and that it may take a little longer to see the results that I was unrealistically expecting.

I am convinced that I expected those unrealistic results because I was not properly informed. Had I not gotten useful information here, I doubt I would have kept my positive attitude.

Yep, useful, accurate information in the hands of unknowing people can make a HUGE difference in the success they may or may not achieve.
