starting to reap the benefits!!!

Post by Junaid » Tue May 18, 2010 5:49 am

After 5months of cpap therapy, stuggling with leaks, mangled nose and face, blocked and runny nose, on-going tiredness and feeelings of giving up Im finally starting to feel the benefits and I know this is just the start.

My AHI ranges between 1.5 and 4.5. Im even starting to feel good on nights when I have an AHI of 4.5. I was despondent just a week ago but in the last 7 days Ive started feeling better and better. I hope it lasts.

Good to hear!
Are you doing anything different e.g. bedtimes, food, drink etc?

It feels awesome Brenda.

Ive cut down on my caffeine intake. I used to drink 5 cups of coffee per day. with one cup just before bedtime. Now i only take two cups, with my second cup at 3pm for the latest (i was warned about GERD...and caffeine). Also, Ive changed my mask to a Wizardfit and I think that has helped also.

That's great to hear. I found that cutting down on caffeine really helped my sleep quality, also.

Junaid, that is really great to hear! Keep going... it should get even better. I'm 1 year, 3 months out from starting CPAP and definitely feel the benefits. For me, I think I might have some body damage that is going to take longer to heal, if it heals at all.

Feeling good,
Feeling great
CPAP on my head
No stayin' up late for meeeeeeeeeee...
Sleep well and live better!

Congratulations, 5 months is a long time to stick with something difficult, great job.

That's wonderful news, Junaid! It's great to know that you're doing better.

I used to drink a tall cup of decaffeinated coffee in the evenings. I stopped doing that some months ago, and I do think that improved my sleep quality.

I had to look up the WizardFit mask, as I'd never heard of that one before. Apparently, it's not available in the U.S. Good to know that's working for you! I hope that you continue to feel better and better. It can take some time to work things out, but it's worth it!

It's great to hear your good news! My mask and hose are like a "blankey" for me. There's no comfort without them.
