TWO QUESTIONS Oxy Meter & MASK don't WK

Post by mergh » Sat May 08, 2010 4:03 am

Hello, I'm of course are new for this site. I have a little question.
Which Oxy Meter are you all mostly buying? How much does it cost and is it on line?
I have been looking on line it's all too confusing too pick one. I could look at the $44 to over $100 price range. But how do you know which one will tell you the "correct" measurement.
Not only do I have Sleep Apnea, I also have COPD. I need one to help me take care of my oxygen that I wear most of the time. I'm suppose to wear 7/24. Unless I'm sitting and watching tv and not sob.
I just purchase a new machine and into it just a few days also. It has all the bells and if only my face mask would work properly would make it all good as well.

For now I am between a rock and a hard spot on the mask have to either wait out another month before my insurance will pay for another mask, or wear the one I have. So I try but given up for now on the mask. Oh yeah I have the FX in small size.
Not so much my nose as it is I have one of the smallest heads it seems.
Funny...
So for now I'm not able to use my new S9 with all the bells until I fix the mask.

Hi,
You will want to get a pulse oximeter that will download so you can get results for the full night. If you just get a cheap spot check monitor, you will get an accurate result of what your oxygen level is at a certain point, but that may me much different while you sleep. That will be helpful for your daytime oxygen levels, but if you want to check and make sure that they stay up at night, you will need one with download capability.
I sell pulse oximeters online (at http://www.coopermedicalsupplies.com) but I did alot of research on the different models before starting. There are about 3 or 4 models that most people use on here. One is made by spo medical (spo 7500) is a wrist oximeter that can be downloaded. This model is very popular but is pretty expensive 400-500.00. The other few oximeters are made by contec medical are the CMS-50D Plus, CMS50E, and CMS50F. The CMS50D Plus is the cheapest at about 100.00 and uses AAA batteries and a cable to connect to your computer. The CMS50E is very similar but has a rechargeable battery and can either be connected to the computer via cable or can download wirelessly. It is about 125.00. The CMS50F is a wrist mounted unit that has the same features as the CMS50E but fits on your wrist like a watch and has a finger probe attached like the spo 7500. It runs about 220.00. From what I can tell, all of them have similar reports that can be printed off from the included software.
I have just started selling these and have been offering the CMS50D Plus but I am planning on getting a few of the others to sell as well.
Good Luck,
Kevin

If you can't resolve your mask issues thru the DME,,,you can usually pick up a "tried a few nights" mask on cpapauctions.com for about $20-$50, depending on which mask you want. And if you get one that just doesn't work for you...put it right back up for auction and get your money back!
