Guy help: What kind of panty hose to buy

Post by kurth83 » Thu May 06, 2010 12:29 pm

Since I am a guy and know nothing about panty hose,
I thought I would ask y'all, what kind should I buy?
Is there a size range that works well for a normal head size?

I would prefer something that can be bought at a grocery store or even better, amazon prime.

thanks,
- Kurt

I like the red fishnets ... more sexy.

First of all, don't buy pantyhose - they are too uncomfortable. Buy ladies' tights that are made of nylon microfiber or polyester microfiber. These are very light, very soft to the touch, and wick moisture well. Any typical adult size will work because you are going to cut them to size. My wife picked up a couple of pairs for a buck at a discount clothing store (Ross maybe).

No you want tights not panty hose. Lycra stretch fabric. basically you tie the leg around your head length wise. Go to any department store and look in the shoe and socks section. They will probably be black - that is the most common colour but I have them in plaid and polka dots (but not for wearing with my cpap)
Now is a good time of year as they will be on sale to get rid of winter stock.

Chicken!

Man up and get them along w/your Lansinoh and Polident strips.

It's part of the cpap character building experience.

Like this:

I am allergic to polyester, but nylon (above) is fine.

I use 'Knee High' "nylons" - 3pr/$1 at the dollar store. NO cutting = NO frayed ends tickling your face.

They fit my head fine. The only choice is what color.

Am I hearing correctly that two methods are used here?

1) ties them like a headband.
2) pulls them over your head like the movie bandits do.

Sounds like a poll might be in order here.

Yes, some people cut the whole leg off and tie it around their head.

Saner ones (like me) cut a small cross-section out of the leg. When you stretch it, it will automagically "roll up" on itself, creating a loop the size of the leg (one from the thigh will be bigger than one from the calf) with the rolled band about 1/8 to 1/4-inch thick.

The wider the cross-section, the more tension it will provide (and the bulkier the "roll", of course). It fits around the nasal pillow "stalks" quite well, without the bulk (or the knot!) of method 1.

I don't think anyone actually does the "bank robber" thing. But the second method is closer to that.

If you are going to do it, do it right.

Ok, this was certainly NOT in the training session my DME provided. Had to check to see if I was in the CPAP forum or the convenience store robber forum.

Seriously, though, what is the purpose of the pantyhose? The only thing I can think of is possibly to avoid the mask lines on your face, but I would think it wouldn't seal properly against your face since it's so porous.

To look sexy in bed, of course.
