Hello everyone !! Rescan 3.10 & VPAPlll ??

Post by ceb » Fri Apr 30, 2010 6:17 am

Hello, found this site trying to get the Rescan 3.10 to find my machine! I have the old VPAP lll and a laptop running Win 7. I have a serial to USB cable with a gender changer on the machine (can't find female to USB cable). The cable installed in 7 just fine and is setup on Com 5. But the software will not download the data! Went in to the settings/download and it did find Com5 and had a green check mark on it, but out to the side " No device". Can't click anything not working out for me !! Can someone please HELP ?? Great Site !!! Looking forward to meeting you all !!!!....Charles

....Has anyone ever hooked a card reader to a VPAP III ? How do you get it to load the data to it ? Do you just hook it up and go to bed ? Should I just forget it on this machine and try to upgrade ? Thanks...Charles

I have used multiple Vpap IIIs and a 'standard ' 9-pin female to female 9-pin 'null modem' serial cable.

Never had a problem. Also used this setup with S7 elite, S7 Spirit.

But as soon as anyone changes from a 'standard' null modem cable, I can understand that things might go wrong.

Good luck

If you are into Bilevels - then either Resmed or Respironics are good choices as both provide excellent data.

With Respironics you can get an inexpensive card reader (if you buy the older models that have the big data card). The newer Respironics Bipaps have an SD card.

The current Resmed Vpap (bilevels) use an expensive card reader for their data cards or you can buy a USB adapter cable to read data off the machine.

When it comes to the software for either, just post in the forum, a "please help me find xyz" (where xyz is either Encore Pro (Respironics) or ResScan (Resmed)).

Good luck

PS the Vpap III was one great machine for its data & the quality of the data.

Cheers

Yes, I have to agree with that ! Just a quick note to say "thanks" for the help and to let you know I got the cable in today and it worked like a dream !! YAY ! One more thing if you or someone esle would please help.. the report didn't have any AHI & AI's. All were blank on the graphs. The total were all 0.0. Why did this happen? Is it a setting in the software or the machine ? ....Thanks Charles
