Your sleep position - who are you?
Re: Your sleep position - who are you?
I am a combo.... Soldier / Starfish.
Despite sleeping on my back, which is an apnea no-no, the machine controls
the apneas.

None really apply
But
http://www.shopsleepsolutions.com/produ ... n_E_711624 sort of nails it on the head.
Although I just put one pillow under my arm, and 2 on top of it - I may actually give in and try this one.

Re: Your sleep position - who are you?
I kind of fall asleep like that too. My feather pillow is very old and well broken-in. I bunch it up under my head with my arm around the top, similar to the picture when I am sleeping on my side. But when I fall asleep on my back, I usually push it aside or flatten it out. In a motel room (if I forget my pillow), I usually use a rolled-up towel and sleep without a pillow.Gia wrote:http://www.shopsleepsolutions.com/produ ... n_E_711624 sort of nails it on the head.
My wife sleeps with two big, fluffy pillows under her head. I honestly don't know how she can sleep like that.

Re: Your sleep position - who are you?
Soldier 70% of the time, the rest Yearner.
I started sleeping on my back more when i got a memory foam mattress. I used to sleep on a firm regular mattress.
A memory foam mattress creates a crater for your body to sleep in and its tough to lift yourself out of a crater on your back.
I'm not sure the investment in a memory foam mattress was a good idea but the decision to purchase one was made before i got sleep apnea.
I however have the Regenesis pillow which also holds my head upright in crater so my chin does not drop down to my chest when i'm on my back. I think that helps.

I"m a yearning fetal starfish, which sort of sounds like a character in an odd sci-fi novel. I also flop from one side to the other pretty frequently every night, depending on which joints are hurting. If it's not the knee it's the shoulder or the hip...

Re: Your sleep position - who are you?
Out of those I guess freefaller would be the closest. Although I sleep with one arm under the pillow and supporting my head and over the last couple of years I've been squeezing a second pillow with the other arm. The description it completely off though. Hmmmm, never mind.

I often go between the falcon and the reverse falcon (same as falcon position, but turned on my back). Sometimes 'soldier'.

Re: Your sleep position - who are you?
Long ago I believed the personality traits about sleep position, but now I believe the deciding factor is physical comfort, as in, can you breathe in that position?
Re: Your sleep position - who are you?
Flat on my back. 99% of the time. In the RV sometimes on my side.

Wow, your wife must be very understanding...and accommodating.LinkC wrote:I sleep in the missionary position. None of that fancy, kinky stuff for ME!!!

Pretty much describes my sleep position also.Wulfman wrote:Yeah......none of those positions specifically depict my sleeping position(s) either.
I'm a side-sleeper and my bottom-side arm tucks upward under the corner of my pillow and my top-side arm crosses my chest and my hand rests on the bed....

Never really paid much attention.
