How much art work do you need for a show and when is the show???

Several more dolls at least - they are small - Think Barbies. So it takes a lot to fill up a space. Each takes at least 30-50 hours to create.

Have to find a gallery - that is the hardest part. Marketing myself.
The second hardest part is giving myself permission to work on my dolls - after the housework, the volunteer work, the family commitments, ....

I have committed to be part of a show in the spring sometime which will be with other artists, I will probably be organizing part of it ... sigh... But at least then I don't have to take the risk of being rejected by the organizers.

I have a work in progress right now that I had planned to work on this week - except I have been sick all week so now the bloody 16 night gowns are going to take its place.

(Oh and by the way I am also organizing/curating/ running it)

At new years I said I wanted to have my own show.
Nice! Congrats!

Nice quotes found back CM! BlackSpinner, the change in your attitude and health is amazingly apparent in those small snippets. I love the contrast of the "....sigh..." in December to the "(Oh and by the way I am also organizing/curating/ running it)" now (I can just hear how proud of yourself you are!).

WAY TO GO What great encouragement for others!!

Add my Congratulations!

I'm just wondering if you will post some photos of your new dolls or the show on your webpage? (For those of us 3000 km away from where the show will be taking place.) I would definitely attend if I could! Your art is amazing!

Fantastic news!!! I thought you were on here longer as well but you came on in around the same time as me.

I changed my avatar to show how much better I look a year after treatment. Black circles almost gone now. woohoo.

Have a great time at the art show, I wish I was in Montreal, I'd come see you.

Well - I missed the wine and cheese - In the middle of the set up my daughter called that she had fallen UP the stairs at her student film shoot and the teacher was driving her to ER. I left detailed confusing instructions and took off. WE spent 9 hours in ER to find out it was not broken. Don't ever go to ER on a Friday afternoon /evening with what is considered a "minor" problem. We got home at 1 am.

I am told the wine and cheese was well attended. They forgot to put out the visitor book so I can only go by hearsay. Yesterday was quiet but with a constant stream of visitors. My ex husband, Catherine, stopped by with her new "girlfriend". That felt a bit surreal. It is the first time we have met in 23 years and she was a man at that time. However we communicated earnestly about my work and they loved it.

Today it continues.... I now have to get my daughter on crutches down the stairs to the taxi and wake up the granddaughter and get her off back to her probably hung over mother . Yeah babysitting too this weekend.... but she hunted down crutches for the fallen one who defied gravity.

Oh my! Sometimes it's just one dam@ed thing after another . Sounds like you're handling it all well, given the situation...thank God for CPAP therapy, eh?

Yes I don't think I would have survived a year ago.
