One Year Anniversary

Post by BlackSpinner » Thu Apr 22, 2010 7:47 pm

It was one year ago that I finally got my cpap machine.

This weekend - one year later - I am part of an art show. There are 2 new pieces in it which were mostly created in the evenings after work. A "chore" that would have been unthinkable a year ago. The last piece (which I finished yesterday) was done in the last couple of months, during which I also had pneumonia and bronchitis.

I can say I am thinking more clearly - I can tell from the code I am writing and the speed I can write it at.
My weight has been steady with a small drop - now that this piece is finished and the last dredges of the illness over I can start doing more and working out again.
My mood is better and I am friendlier, I can speak French more easily. I am also beginning to think celibacy is not as great as I thought it was.

Thanks to everyone here for the moral support and community.

Lena

PS If you are in Montreal this weekend the show is at 1928 St Catherine Street west Above Melange Magique.

For me it was instant success. But I came to it after years of practicing mind control and relaxation techniques to deal with migraines and allergies. I was also used to taking charge of my therapy.

Congrats! You are always pitching in to help folks out here and sounds like your therapy is going great.

I hope to stop by and see your art.

Thank you everyone.

This is a great way to celebrate my first year with the show!
(Oh and by the way I am also organizing/curating/ running it)

At new years I said I wanted to have my own show. I realized that the only way this was going to happen was to put it on myself with the help of a couple of the other artists. That just like with therapy I had to take charge of my art "career" myself.
This is my first step - me and 8 other artists. I have 5 pieces in the show.

Today I run around and freak out trying to assemble everything and then be calm and collected for the wine & cheese vernisage tonite.

"Congrats" on everything Blackspinner! Here's hoping that everything continues this way for you.

I used to do a lot of work in Montreal. It is one of my favorite cities. The restaurants and the culture there are extraordinary!

The only thing I can't stand are the winters But hey, that's why they invented the Caribbean

Best of luck!

Dave
