Anyone try to make their own homemade Remzzzs?
I just checked out the Remzzzs website and thought it would be pretty easy to make them myself. Have any of you tried to make them yourselves?
I'm thinking a felt-type material might work well, and it would be washable. You'd want it to be really soft though.

many have used old cotton t shirts or cotton panties - I made my last set out of old flannel PJ pants material - made18 last time, then I will trash as needed as I used "rags" to make them

Thanks Jules,
Did you usually just use one thickness of material?
Did it help with the leaks?

I used some old T-shirts too and they worked just fine. One layer did it. It's not enough "padding" to stop a sore nose, but it does stop the leaks.

I have used one layer to get rid of the red marks the mask leaves on my face however, let me find you the original post where I got the idea -

however there has been several threads about making your own Remzzz recently

This is a photo of my RemZzz for a small Quattro. The grid is 1 inch. It is a very thin stretchy knit, like t-shirt material. But it's like that t-shirt that has been laundered many many times, that your husband won't throw out, even though you can see through it.

I tried making my own, but the T-shirt material I used was too thick, and I couldn't get a good seal. The real RemZzzs work much better. Although they recommend using a new one every night, I usually make mine last three or four nights, or until the dog eats it.
Re: Anyone try to make their own homemade Remzzzs?
I couldn't get a good seal with the Remmzzzs material. In addition, it didn't do much to help with the irritation at the bridge of my nose. The material in the Padacheek nose bridge protector seems to work better for me in terms of seal and alleviating skin irritation.

Thanks everyone,
I'm trying to make one for the Hybrid, which is a little challenging. I can't decide if I should make one big one to include the nasal pillows, or 2 separate ones.
LOL Katie........I have tons of those kinds of tee shirts. I'll have to sneak some out of DH's dresser. (but I know he'll miss them).

I took KatieW's idea a step further and created a printable pattern for a DIY full face cotton mask liner. Cut out the pattern and make your own. Now you have a use for your old or unused underwear that no longer fit, have more holes than their original specifications, or contain printed material of questionable taste. I hope this helps someone. Please let me know if it needs editing in any way.KatieW wrote:

Re: Anyone try to make their own homemade Remzzzs?
Wow! Thank you for the template for making these mask liners. I will have to make it smaller to fit my Mirage Micro nasal mask. I have a lot of flannel fabric that will work and I can make a bunch of them. I'll make one today and see if it will work and if it does, then I'lll make a bunch of them and use then for a few nights at a time and then toss. Any way, Thank you for the template. Will give this a try. I think it will be easy to fix it to fit the Mirage Micro. Have a great day, Huggies, Fay...............2 questions How do you make it stay on the mask?? Or do you just place it there when you put it on?

Yep - I always use my old cotton panties - they are well washed and soft and thin.
I just lay the mask on it and cut out around leaving some extra space.
Then I cut a small hole, try it and adjust the hole. If I try to make it the right size right away it is always too big. I use them until either the cat steals them or they get grungy. The cat usually wins LOL. There are little grungy scraps hidden all over the house.
I now use 2 strips with my Hybrid one on the upper lip and one on the chin flap - my skin does not like anything plasticy on it at all.

Having been a REMzzz user and
DIY liner maker.....
I suggest forget all that hassle.
Get a PadaCheek mask liner.
Install to your mask, forget about it.
No muss, no fuss.
No getting it in the right postion,
no adjusting in the night,
stays in place when mask is removed,
can be done in the dark.....
night after night.
No telling how long it will last.

Multiple options are great. I tried to find a link on padacheek.com specifically for the full-face cushion liner, but was not successful. Could you point us there, for those who might be interested?carbonman wrote:Having been a REMzzz user and

I don't think they are official yet.DreamDiver wrote:Could you point us there, for those who might be interested?
I'm using a beta version.
When I find cpap equipment that works,
I want a backup.
I sent a request for a custom order.
