Going on six months-still learning

Post by BrettAnd » Mon Apr 19, 2010 6:53 pm

Going on six mos. now and I've started looking at my settings. Yup, everything was hidden and now that it's mine I figured it's mine to see. Being new to CPAP I, of course, have several questions. I'll risk asking my top three. I get a "no data" for any daily anything, how can that be? ; My machine is set to a H3i humidifier even though a H4i is attached, is that a problem? It seems to work fine. Lastly, what mask setting should be used for a Fitlife TFM? One RT said standard, one said quattro. I use the standard now because I do also use the quattro and don't want to risk skewing the data. Yes I do change that setting every time I change masks and for the time being, I can't afford a card reader/ software. Thanks! BA

Well, your unit should provide you with detailed daily data:
Data Storage Capacity
  • Display: 365 days summary data and 5 nights detailed data (up to 500 events per session).
  • Data Card: 180 days of summary data and 5 nights detailed data (up to 200 events per session)
So, perhaps someone with an S8 Elite II can help with that.

I would leave the mask setting "as is" since your numbers all are set with that now.

I doubt that it makes a difference if it says H3i humidifier. If you can change it to H4i, the do so. But it should not make any difference in the ResScan software reporting.

If you do not check your data before noon each day then the date is gone and you will see none if you are looking at the data via the LCD screen. Next the S8 has no setting for the 4hi humidifier just the 3hi but it works the same, per Resmed. Last you need to find the compatible mask chart to make sure your mask setting is correct. I think the Mir Full Mask setting is probably correct but I am not at my computer and cannot send you the compatability chart.

Ty, I have the charts. ResMed only lists their masks and/or equipment. The Mirage Quattro chart shows about 38 lpm at a 10 setting whereas the Fitlife shows about 48 lpm at a pressure of 10. I'm guessing to compensate for the 550 ml of dead space. I would tend to agree that the MIR Full setting would be the best, But, my menu is not the same as ResMed charts. My mask menu selection includes a "MIRAGE' setting. Does that mean it's been altered after market? I asked Resmed that same question and am still waiting for their reply. Again, thanks!! I'll be certain to check my Eff. Early in the day.
