back up battery power
back up battery power
Newbie canuck here..how do I go about setting up battery power. Just got my cpap this week and wouldn't you know it the power was out for 15 hours first night out. I now know I need back-up power, what do I need and how do I go about it.

						Re: back up battery power
I have a Duracell DPP-600HD from amazon.com for less than $135 delivered and used it for 9 hrs on my unit (do not use humidifier with such backup power). Lots of detail posts re this; do a search.

If you go to cpapman.com there are several diagrams on how to hook up either a deep cycle marine battery (you may need a dc adapter) or how you can purchase a battery backup. They advertise for batterygeek.com. They are expensive but I have had several customers that have purchased them and had very good opinions about them.

Thank you for the info, that means in Canuck terms, if I go to Canadian Tire and buy a Motomaster Eliminator 600, I will be good to go!! I spent the morning reading and digesting all of your info on back up power, I am now informed, THANKS!!

Don't forget the 'WARNING' re use with humidifier....for ResMed need a DC inverter. I'm not familiar with your brand/model so please check with mfger. Or use humidifier only in pass-over mode or not at all.nanwilson wrote:Thank you for the info, that means in Canuck terms, if I go to Canadian Tire and buy a Motomaster Eliminator 600, I will be good to go!! Thanks again dtsm, I am aware it doesn't have enough power to keep the humidifier going too. Thanks
