Nevermind, it looks like jmelby answered my question on another post. Please see his reply below. However, I wish they at least turned the autostart feature for full face mask and disabled auto off. That would be cool. please remember that below is from another post and not for this post.

The auto on/off is not designed to work with a full face mask--you must not have the right mask setting if that still worked. This is probably what caused the machine to shut off in the night--the higher exhaust rates on full face masks makes it harder for the machine to recognize when you take it off... the issue you encountered is a case in point as to why they disable the feature for full face masks.

If it shows no usage an you are getting zero AHI, leak etc, try power cycling the S9. A zero leak and AHI is possible with the S9

Ok Finally got some numbers on my second night. Below are the numbers. Also changed out to the medium Quattro and it was a big difference. My nose is still a bit soar, but I think it to do with the night before and not last night. As the mask did not hurt me at all. So good results and hope it will get better. Also, can someone help me with the leak rate? What is a good leak rate to have? Is mine to high?

Total sleep -
7.6
Leak -7.2
AHI - 0.9
Total AI - 0.9
Central AI - AI 0.5

The other thing I found weird is the way the S9 calculates average use. I used it for 6.5 the first night and then 7.6 the second night and it says that it has an average use of 4.7. However, I would expect that to be around 7.05.

Well, the best leak rate to have is zero, and it is possible, but takes some time to learn how to adjust your mask. Your numbers are good, so it seems the S9 is able to compensate for your leaks. It can generally do so, up to 24 liters/minute, but then therapy is affected, and data is questionable (from S8 Clinical Guide).

Also, I found that even though leaks didn't affect my AHI, it still disturbed my sleep--as I would wake up to adjust the mask, so my sleep wasn't as restful.

The "day" is from noon to noon of each day. What times do you sleep, and could this be affecting your daily usage numbers?

As previously suggested, power cycle the S9. That will fix this issue.

The other thing too is that the higher and longer the leaks, the more pressure gets ramped up. I've seen this on a number of my graphs to try and maintain the pressure it needs. This can also cause awakenings due to the increased pressure being uncomfortable.

Thanks
Dave

I hope all went well with your first night sleep. While I have been using CPAP for 19 years, I only recently bought a new S9n autoset. I love it! I am still getting some leaks, and I need to deal with them, but as I ghetr used to the macvhine my AHIs are coming down.

0.9 last night.
