VPAP Auto 25 or PR System One REMstar

Which would you choose and why? Is one better than the other for self titration?Would the new S9 come close to what these machines can do?

Hi,

This all depends on what treatment you need. If you need BiLevel, I don't think that the PR System One does that yet. Your profile states that you are on an SV machine. Do you need SV? If so, then I don't think either of these machines does that. My suggestion is to define what you need, and then get the machine that has that feature.

I used a M-Series BiPAP Auto for the past 18 months, and just started using a VPAP Auto 25 a week ago. So far, I am having trouble adapting to the ResMed machine. I find that the humidifier tries to drown me, and the machine is noisy compared to the M-Series machine. I also don't like the 1-piece humidifier. I do like the screen and menus on the ResMed machine. I think the ResMed is smoother, but it is far less aggressive in restarting my breathing when I do have an event.

I am experimenting with auto mode, and that might be part of the issue that I am having with the ResMed. Despite getting down to an AHI of around 2, I still have head aches and feel groggy. I am going to go back to the straight BiLevel mode. If that doesn't help, then I am going to go back to the M-Series machine. I was doing really well until I attempted to switch machines.

John, yes I use an sv auto but I want a smaller bipap/bilevel for travel. If you saw the size of the sv auto you would understand.I want to be able to track my data while traveling and get a fair level of tratment. My issues are periodic breathing and centrals so I can get by for a week, heck I went 10 years without servo ventilation. Thanks for the input
