Welcome to the forum! Your input will be very valuable. You may encounter some people who will need to first vent their bad experiences and frustration with DMEs, but we're really a forgiving group so you'll do fine here.

Hey,
I just wanted to let you know that I keep hearing good things about your new therapist. Glad I have some help on here fending off the dme bashers.

Welcome to the forum, David and Kevin.
We've always welcomed the "professionals" here. There have actually been quite a few over the years. We appreciate their input and the opportunity to "educate" them.
Anyway, pull up a chair and make yourselves comfortable.

Hey now, I never claimed to be professional just a therapist. Like I said in another post, I've learned more in the last month or so of being on here than in the last 10 years of working for DMEs that didnt train me. Luckily I found a good one finally.

Thank you all for the welcome and the warnings. Yes I am a CPAP user and being in the DME industry I am afforded the luxury of trying all types of units and mask. Like Kevin, no matter what I prefer to use I try all new technology to see what my clients can expect and determine the good and bad first hand. For instance the new Resmed Swift FX not a real improvement over a remakable pillow system in the Swift LT. Sometimes it's best to leave well enough alone.
I currently use the Respironics PR-1 Auto System with Swift LT...David

But of course you know that everyone is different and different masks work for different people!
The SwiftFX may be a great improvement over the SwiftLT for SOME people.
I have used both and I prefer the SwiftFX. It's a better mask FOR ME.

Hello and welcome!
Can you answer a question that I posted previously:
What are the conditions under which Medicare would swap out a machine during a period of rental? Would it an Rx from the doctor saying he wants the patient on Auto-PAP instead of their current CPAP do the trick? Also, what happens to the machine after the 13 months that Medicare rents the machine? Thanks!
