Hans Rudolph FFM Question, Please Help

Post by Komodo » Tue Mar 23, 2010 7:37 am

Hi Guys,
I'm having my DME order me a Hans Rudolph FFM (against their will! ).
My problem is, I don't know what size to have them order.

I've read that the Hans Rudolph's run a little LARGER than most other masks, and would like to hear from anyone on the Forum who has a HR FFM.

I currently have a Quattro FFM, Comfortfull FFM, Comfortgel Nasal, and Micro Nasal, all in Medium. All four masks fit my face "just right", not too big, not too small.
So...if you have any of the above masks, AND, a Hans Rudolph, I'd REALLY appreciate hearing your input!!!!! Even if you don't have any of the above masks, but have a Hans Rudolph, I like to hear about the size comparision to your other masks.

Thank's in advance,
John

If you go to CPAP's regular website there is short questionaire that will help you find the right size for the mask. Part oi the questionaire shows yu how to take mask measjurements on your fce at the conclusion of the questionaire it shows ou which masks are agood fit for you.

I went to the Hans Rudolph site and downloaded their mask sizing guage. According to that guage, I take a medium. BUT....I also take a medium going by the guages of other companies (including Cpap.com). Hans Rudolph WARNS that their masks run larger than other masks, and that's why I'm trying to find someone who has one, to see "how much larger" they really are.

If you are ordering from a DME, they should measure you and determine the size. If you take it home and try it and it is too big, they should exchange it for you at no cost. All manufacturers have a 30 day exchange policy.

Oh yeah, that's not a problem. They WANT to come and measure me before they order the mask, but they're going to get the same measurements I got. I know they'll exchange it if it's the wrong size, but it's going to be time consuming. They've already told me it's going to take them several weeks to get me a mask. That's not a problem either, since I already have a couple of masks I can use, but if I have to exchange it, that's going to be several MORE weeks.

I'd kinda like to get the sizing right the first time if at all possible.

Iim new at this .1st post. I have used resmed quattro in medium and small. the small works better no leaks for me.
I have the Hans Rudolph in small. It takes time to adjust that's why dme companies don't like it. Too many people don't give it enough time before saying it does not work. I like it very well. I guess unless you have a small face more like female then go small but if you've been fine on all the mediums and you do the measurement (critical) it should be ok. follow their guide.
I can't figure out where to put my profile yet. I use cpap set at 13. S8 escape 11 with h4 humidifier.

Welcome to the Forum, and THANK-YOU-LUCY!!!!!!

Your help is appreciated more than you know!

My DME's RT called me yesterday to make an appointment to measure me, AND, to get info on the Hans Rudolph. In the three years he's worked there he's never even HEARD of Hans Rudolph, let alone fitted someone with one! It should be an interesting "fitting".

Thank's again,
John

Hans Rudolph FFM does run a bit large. I ordered the small despite measuring out for a medium and it fit perfectly. It is by far the most comfortable and best sealing mask that I have tried.

Thank's for the reply Zeker, unfortunately it only confuses me more. Screwylucy says to go by my normal size, and you say they DO run a bit larger.

Guess I'll find out for myself next Thursday.

Spoke to my DME today, and they already ordered me a mask! I asked them how could do that considering I never told them what size to order. Their reply: "It ONLY COMES in one size." I informed them that wasn't the truth, that it comes in FIVE sizes!!!!! I got a lot of "Ah...ah...ah..." from them and then they said if it didn't fit I could exchange it.

If it "only comes in one size" what would be the point of exchanging it???
