AHI is only 1.5 with my Swift FX!

Post by Jersey Girl » Fri Mar 19, 2010 6:15 pm

Dear Friends,

When I first switched masks to my Swift FX, I was worried because my AHI was 4.2 and 3.9. I was alarmed by this and I was feeling somewhat tired in the morning. But, after only a few nights, it got consistently better until last night it was my AHI was 1.5: 1.5-HI and 0-AI. I woke up feeling very well rested and happy that my new mask was working out so well. I am sleeping comfortable and have finally made "friends" with my machine.

Now, if I could just get my husband John to stop snoring...

Regards to all,

Jersey Girl

Great numbers I'm glad the mask is working out well. Think that will be my next mask. Isn't nice when you start feeling better?

Jersey,

That is good to hear. I have an FX on order. The Swift LT has really worked out well for me, so I am hoping that the FX will be even better. The only issue I have with the LT is that the back strap rides up and the mask gets loose on me. I think that I have learned to fix that in my sleep. The back of my head must be too flat. The pictures of the FX head gear look like it will fit my head shape a little better.

I use one nightly - I find it to be the most comfortable set-up for side sleepers...

For his birthday, arrange for a sleep study You never know he might be in need of a CPAP too! Just think of it, two hose heads!

Can a couple get a tandem hose off the same machine? That would save the DME's a lot of money.

Glad the mask is working out so well.

You can always tell his doctor / PA that you found a anti-snoring device you are considering using on John ...

Thank you my friends, for celebrating with me. John, I loved your cartoon and u-tube. Yes, I will soon be using a hammer on John if he doesn't stop snoring! Dave - We did send John for a sleep study and he does not have sleep apnea, but does have UARS. He had 180 "arousals", but no apneas and it is doubtful that his insurance will be for cpap if it's not sleep apnea. He also wears dentures, so I have my doubts about the use of a dental appliance working, but we will be looking into it anyway. I really do need to do something about his snoring, as he continually keeps me up most nights!

Any thoughts about how to get someone to stop snoring without xpap?

JerseyGirl, I notice that when my husband happens to nap with his denture removed and no cpap, he snores like crazy but with his denture in place he doesn't. So I'm wondering if he's tried sleeping with his dentures in at night?
