Finally noticing weight loss~ Happy Dance!

Post by Jaylee » Thu Mar 18, 2010 8:56 pm

It has been since October, but I think I have finally reached paying off what my sleep debt did to me. I get a solid 8 hours a night of sleep, my skin looks great, I get compliments on it all the time, and I have a ton of energy. And on the weekends I do stuff, instead of "sleeping" for 18 hours a day.

I no longer feel like a zombie walking through life. I am alert. And the world is big now. I notice things I had never seen before. But the energy is crazy. If you had told me a year ago that I would be jogging with my students, I would have laughed at you. Now I do it every day. I chase them, I pick them up and swing them around. Great fun.

And I don't sit down that much anymore. I go for walks for fun after work. And I don't suck down tons of caffeine anymore. I don't need it anymore to stay awake.

So finally the weight loss is showing up and someone actually noticed. I don't own a scale so I didn't know for sure if I had lost any, and I haven't had another check up lately. But I can tell in my face and around my belly area, but someone noticed! And my winter time hoodies are getting so big on me now.

My only complaint is my aching back. I get up at 3 AM every night with it for about a half hour. It is a combination of sleeping in one position- which I never did before because I moved so much- and the fact that I have so much energy that I am physically doing more. Picking up the students, pushing them on the swings, etc. But I usually stretch and go back to bed. Other than that, things are great

Jaylee, maybe a visit to your Chiropractor or Phisio? I had one session with my chiropractor
and my back is better.

Wow, Jaylee. That is soooo great. You give me hope. I am still waiting to get the energy. But it is only a week on CPAP. How long did it take you before you got your energy back?

Jaylee, I'm so happy for you but aren't you the least bit interested in buying a scale? Please!!

Scales are for fish.

JayLee,for me, the happiest thing thing about you post is all the living you're doing - and your happiness in living shining through. Weight loss is side effect.

Keep up the focus on living and enjoying life. And don't buy a scale. Whatever for?

For me a scale just validates the changes I'm seeing and gives encouragement. It's kind of like reading Mike's data every day, I don't need it to tell me that he slept well, I can observe that, but looking at the numbers just tells me we're on the right track. JMHO.

It was a long time. Probably 4 months. Probably not what you wanted to hear I was going through a hard time though so that could have been part of my sluggishness.

The scale thing- ugh, I can't believe I am admitting this on a message board, but I have never seen a scale that went high enough to weigh me So it is a moot point. I must weight to go to my doctor's office. Although I am only about 30 pounds off from the one in the nurses office at work weighing me.

I thought of another benefit to the BiPap. I can read in bed now during the day! I love to stretch out on my bed and read, but I would always fall asleep before from just being tired all of the time. Now that I am getting good sleep, that is not an issue. I spent the afternoon reading in bed and it was fabulous
