comfort gell mask fixed at larst

Post by harry33 » Wed Mar 17, 2010 2:32 pm

the respironics comfortgell mask has been usually the most popular mask of all despite a long period where the masks usually eventually broke where the headgear balljoints
clip onto the front of the mask . It seems to be the only mask that can be resized to suit individual faces, surprising that no other masks can do this ??

respironics knew of this breakage problem for years but didnt fix it, so doing their reputation much harm

finally the clip area has been strengthened, its wider and has 3 ridges instead of the previous 2. I bought the frame part and used it to repair a broken mask.

If buying a new comfortgell mask, look at the clipholders for 3 ridges, I suspect they will try to sell of the old stock first.
My comments relate to the nose only version as I have no experience with the full face version

the new strengthened frame has item no 1054192

Harry, it's been fixed for some time now, at least 6 months. I got one of the new ones when mine broke on the side (old version) no amount of superglue would work.

I posted some pics of the new mask at the end of this thread: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=46602&p=420046#p420046

ETA: It will also note on the plastic bag that it is the redesigned mask.
So you get one chance in a lifetime to spend time with the sexiest man of the Boeshane Peninsula or traveling around in a TARDIS. Which would you choose?

Much better but still not fixed. They still have a unfixed problem where the upper strap hooks to the plastic "T" forehead support needs 5 cents more plastic. and the "T" bar is too weak and cracks in the middle causing the "T" to unhook from it's upright, another 10 cent repair, then it would be fixed. At four years for each repair, in eight more years they will have the product in a ready to sell condition. Jim
