Good evening everyone.
This is what I asked for:
Respironics REMstar Pro M series CPAP @ 8 cm H20
Enable "Show Leak/AHI"
Enable Ramp: 15 minutes, Ramp Start pressure: 4 cm H20
Enable C-Flex "2"
this is what I brought home:
System One REMStar Pro C-Flex +
I did change the ramp setting to 6.
My current thoughts:
- I'm nervous about starting on a weeknight, but I guess there no time like the present. Feel like I'm having to retrust the machine again.
- I did notice that the air pressure with this machine feels different (more air) than the other.
- I'm using my current hose from the other machine. If you feel I should use the System One hose, I will. It shouldn't make any difference.
Next step, what do I do now about getting the software for the card?
I should also add that the DME, Kelly, was VERY VERY nice and helpful.
NOTE:
I'm still using the same mask.
This is a new kind of machine Kelly told me, Q Series, which just came out in November/December 2009.
What I think is really cool is that the humidifier is dishwasher safe.

Starlette...
Congratulations on your new machine. I have had the Plus version of this machine for around 2 months now and would be very interested in your experience after a night's use in terms of noise. Myself and another member here are finding that our machines have a very loud air intake sound on both inhalation and exhalation and for myself, pausing between breaths. this is my 1rst ever CPAP experience, so I have nothing really to compare my experience with, I just know that I am having a hard time sleeping with the noise my machine is creating.
thanks
Curt

Re: Starlette Brought Home Her New Machine
Sometimes you can help decrease the sound by pointing the air intake AWAY from you. Often the room acoustics is more of the problem. I find that if I point the air intake toward the wall the machine tends to be louder. It also seems to suck cooler air into the unit, making it more likely that rainout will occur. Pointing the machine air intake AWAY from my head reduces the noise and seems to warm the air a bit.Digeeedad wrote:... Hope that helps.
