anyone try the sleep comfort care pad?

Post by montana user » Tue Mar 16, 2010 6:22 pm

Just received the Sleep Comfort Care Pad to try out and wondering if anyone else has tried this product. It is made of a poly gel composed of USP grade mineral oil. It suppose to do the following: Decreases skin breakdown and facial sores. Acts as a barrier between the patients skin and their mask to decrease leaks. Improves overall comfort with nasal and full face masks. Increases patient adherence with OSA therapy.

Well if anyone is interested, their website is http://www.sequal4me.com

If your using this or tried it, please let me know your thoughts. Thanks!!!!

I ordered the comfort care pad after someone on this site recommended it, sorry I did not take the time to check who it was before posting this. I have a ff mask and was having real problems with nose soreness, redness, etc ..layering bandaids, nothing worked. I know I sound like a commercial for the product, but I love this thing. My nose looked and felt so much better after ONE night.

The site I ordered from had posted reviews and it was about 50/50, some loved it, others hated it. The only downside I have seen thus far is that sometimes I have to play with placement a bit and bring the edges down a bit farther than the illustrated placement or they seem to cause leaks near my eyes rather than stop them, but that is not a big deal. I have had it a week now and my biggest hope is that it lasts longer than the 30 day recommended replacement period, because although the cost was reasonable, the shipping was ridiculous.

It will be interesting to me as well to read the experience other folks have had with it.

I'm using the Sleep Comfort Care Pad with my Activa Nasal mask. Trick I find is to first wash my face with mild soap and water, and then to also wash the pad , drying off face and pad, but not completely. Moisture helps the seal. Is a bit tricky to get it to stay in place, but once the mask is over it, its fine.

I have one but recently stopped using it. It does stop the sores and red marks on the nose, but I was having trouble with mask leaks. You have to play with it a bit to find the sweet spot. It may work better with other masks. The quattro is leak prone so anything that contributes to leaks just makes it worse. I went back to using a flesh colored cushioned tape to prevent the red marks. It works just as well for me and does not cause leaks. I have nothing against the comfort cushion, but I don't think it works well with the Quattro mask.

well thank you for the posts! I am excited to try new things, especially if it gets rid of the big red spot on my nose. I wear glasses so that helps hide it, but I always feel like its the highlight of conversation when Im in a room full of people!..
