OT my eye problems have returned
OT my eye problems have returned
Lots of you know I have had a problem with reoccurring corneal abrasion from a car wreck in '95. Guess what...it has come calling again. I've had three nights from hell where my eye gets really red, tears uncontrollably and hurts really bad. My eye glass doc has been great. He met me at his office on Sunday and put a bandage contact lens on it, and has helped me get into see a cornea specialist at the Dean A McGee Eye Institute in OKC. They are supposed to call tomorrow to let me know when I can get in.
This has been happening off and on for 15 years and I'm really getting tired of it. Just when I was getting back to sleeping good, now this! All positive thoughts and prayers are appreciated. It gets better during the day and then when I put the mask on the air tears it up all over again. I stopped riding motorcycles over this, but I can't quit cpap therapy. Hopefully they will have a cure by now for this deal.

Re: OT my eye problems have returned
I 'm sorry to hear about that, Jeff.
There were a number of threads about sleep masks and even goggles to protect eyes from pressurized air leaking at them.
Is the problem air coming from within your nasal passage? I've discovered, in the last month, that air coming from a FFM is much kinder to my nose - though there's a problem controlling leaks near the eye.
OTOH, if the problem is air from outside the mask, how about trying a HeadRest -- its exhasut starts at about hairline level, or a mask that really points downwards?
I hope you will get relief for this soon.

And now here is my secret, a very simple secret; it is only with the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye.

Thanks everyone.
I use Tranquileyes eye goggles at night. I also had permanent tear duct plugs put in last week thinking that would stop it. I had only use the temporary plugs in the past. Big globs of Genteal and Muro 128 ointments have gotten me thru the night and last nite was better than the last several. Still haven't heard from the specialist yet.

See the cornea specialist at 1tomorrow afternoon. Windy here today, so I'm trapped in the house. Wind really messes with this problem.

Hi JeffH. Just saw your thread. This is awful! Yes, it has been VERY windy today, hasn't it!
They have some very good docs there, hope they can help you out and get some permanent relief to this problem. Keep us posted!

Good luck with the specialist. You have had a lot of trouble lately, and you deserve a good break. Hope the doc has some good answers for you.

Thanks, ScrappinMom, I know they do have some good ones and my regular eye doc has had dealings with this guy and says he is good.ScrappinMom wrote:Hi JeffH. Just saw your thread. This is awful! Yes, it has been VERY windy today, hasn't it!
