Re: Bipap Auto SV Advanced
While digging up some other info I found this which shows a new style Bipap AVAPS machine. This one is new to me & looks a very neat package. The previous AVAPS was a feature of the older bigger Synchrony machine.

The new PR System One ASV will also look like this. We will need the Provider Manual for for the PR1 ASV also.dsm wrote:While digging up some other info I found this which shows a new style Bipap AVAPS machine.

Banned,
That will be interesting. If ASV was able to be boxed in that PR 1 package, then the blowers in use are clearly a big step forward.
The avaps doesn't require fast pressure responses like the ASVs do.
My educated guess is that ASV will continue to use the fan/air valve design for some time. But, I could be wrong.

PR1 BiPAP AVAPS has a Max Pressure of 25. I imagine the PR1 BiPAP ASV will be governed in that regard, also.dsm wrote: If ASV was able to be boxed in that PR 1 package, then the blowers in use are clearly a big step forward.

The question being for the PR1 ASV, will it have variable EPAP as in the Advanced?

Re: Bipap Auto SV Advanced
Is there anything concrete along these lines coming from Respironics or ResMed? PR1 or S9? Or just speculation that they will be here - eventually?Banned wrote:

I hope to get an ASV script next week, after my ASV titration on Tuesday. If waiting 2-3 months woukd get me into a newer model, I could buy a used copy of thye existing one one out-of-pocket, then have the insurnace pay for the newer one later. (My insurance pays 100%.) I would then keep the used one as a backup, or resell it.
No way I want to pay for a new PR1/S9 model out of pocket when it first hits the market!
I think, though, this is just general "back chatter"; nothing close enough to help me yet? Just like computers - always chasing that next model ...
Thanks!
Michael

Nothing concrete about a ResMed S9 ASV.unadog wrote:

PR1 BiPAP AVAPS was released 2 weeks ago. Waiting 2-3 months will get you a PR1 BiPAP ASV.unadog wrote: I hope to get an ASV script next week, after my ASV titration on Tuesday. General "back chatter", but close enough to help you.
Yes, always chasing that next model.
Hurray for a traveling ASV.
Way to go PR!

Yeah. High demand, top price, no discounts. No used units.Banned wrote:Why not? Just like computers?unadog wrote: No way I want to pay for a new PR1/S9 model out of pocket when it first hits the market!
My insurance will pay the same either way - for a Bipaip Auto SV now, or a PR1 SV then. And I know I am going to buy a PR1 within a year if they don't buy it for me ...
Cool, thanks very much!Banned wrote: PR1 BiPAP AVAPS was released 2 weeks ago. Waiting 2-3 months will get you a PR1 BiPAP ASV.

I may wait if I can find a reasonably priced Bipap Auto SV used! Maybe I will switch DMEs, that might require a coup[le of months for them to straighten out ....
I found a Bipap Auto SV yesterday on Craigslist. But as usual, I can't get the person to respond to an e-mail when they know I am out of state. They are all afraid of scams apparently ..... Anyone want to make $100?
How long would it be worth while to try to get by on a Bipap S/T while waiting for a new PR1 SV? Is the treatment close enough (assuming Complex, so treating centrals), or would I be giving up too much without the SV?
I am desperate to reduce my cognition, memory, and pain problems! I have a hard time even going to the food store. Spend a good part of the day confused. I am also hoping a fair amount of my foot neuropathy is related to hypoxia. If not I am screwed still!
Thanks again! Wish me luck ....
Best,
Michael

Re: Bipap Auto SV Advanced
Thank you DSM and nghy. I have been trying to get my hands on this provider manual since Feb 2nd when my DME refused to give me the one packaged with my brand new BiPAPautoSV Advanced......... that my insurance was
BUYING FOR ME.
This distrust of the patient has got to end. After all, we are supposed to be part of a team which includes our sleep specialists and the DME company. The insurance companies are overpaying for our equipment since since the policy holder is not getting everything that the insurance company is paying for. Nice of you to share the link with everyone.
Best regards to you and all my fellow seekers of a normal night's sleep.

"Striving to take everything in moderation.......including moderation itself",
I said that!
To clarify, I use a modified Infinity 481 nasal prong mask and love it; and I use Encore Pro 2.2 to analyze my sleep statistics.

Incidentally, the reason my avatar is the image of a very crazed Jack Nicholson in the Shining, is because that is the way I feel most mornings after another bad night's sleep. Of course I am exaggerating, but you get the point.
If and when I ever get to the stage where I am getting a normal night's sleep....... on a regular basis, and I feel like my old self again, you will see my true image instead......that of a normally very gentle soul.

WOW, unadog, with those complaints you definitely need a BiPAP SV.unadog wrote:I am desperate to reduce my cognition, memory, and pain problems! I have a hard time even going to the food store. Spend a good part of the day confused.
Can you hold out for a PR1 ASV?
or do you want to get the BiPAP Auto SV, now?
