ReadingSD card
ReadingSD card
How do I get Encore 2.2 to recognize the data from my SD card? It's a brand new PR APAP with the card it came with. I've used it for 5 nights already, and when I insert the card into my computer card slot, and open patient file, then import data, on preview it recognizes the card, but on download it says there is no data. Thanks for any help you could give me!

When you say recognize, are you able to view the theray data under preview, then you try to download after? Or it is just recognizing the card and your still not able to (pre) view the data?
My guess is that once you preview the data, it doesnt recognize anything to to download, I have selected the download option since I started EP2 a few days ago. I havnt had that problem so I cant be sure. Maybe one of the software guru's knows.

Re: ReadingSD card
Only available SD drives will show up in the download dialog box.

In the above example it shows as drive 'H', without any compatible card detected. For you, the drive letter may differ, but you should see 'Compatible card detected' next to the drive. Select the drive where the card is detected. The 'Dowload' and 'Preview' buttons should then become available to press. Be sure to check the two checkboxes if you want the data to stay on the card and the card to remain in your name.
I'm still looking for the settings that check these both by default, but have not yet found them. If someone knows, please post.
EDIT: Sorry - I misread your question. Doing that a lot recently... Have you considered reformatting the card or buying a new card?

I actually get to see both preview and download options at that screen. How do you format one of these cards? They look just like a camera card. I could see that it might not work unless it was formatted to this version of encore pro, and also formatted to be my personally named card

Re: ReadingSD card
I don't have a PRS1 yet. Hopefully someone with the system will reply with a good recipe for card formatting via EP2.2. Meanwhile, it may help to take a closer look at the clinician's manual. It's the larger of the three pdfs.Huffer wrote:I actually get to see both preview and download options at that screen. How do you format one of these cards? They look just like a camera card. Re: ReadingSD card
My PRS1 came with the SD card, didnt have to format anything, I just popped it out, put it in the card reader and downloaded..bingo bango. Dunno why you wuold have to format the card for this EP 2.2 at all..its just reading the info that is placed on the card by the PRS1. If you format the card via yor PC, you will lose whatever data you have on there.

However, it is winter, and static plays havoc with electronics, including sometimes even SD cards. If the card's data is fried, it may need to be reformatted using whatever instructions are in the administrator's manual for EP2.2. 's all I'm sayin'

Re: ReadingSD card
Why couldnt the card just be formatted via the pc,you think there is there a specific format that the card needs to store/read the software/therapy data?DreamDiver wrote:All true.warrior391 wrote:My PRS1 came with the SD card, didnt have to format anything, I just popped it out, put it in the card reader and downloaded..bingo bango. Re: ReadingSD card
From your description, I'd recommend checking the physical lock slider on the side of the SD card. It should be set to the position indicated by the arrow, forward; closest to the metal pins on the backside of the card. If the card has been hard-locked this whole time, you're not completely out of luck as the machine has some on-board memory that it uses to keep at least some of the nightly data. And apparently it will write some or all of that to an unlocked card, once inserted.
I wouldn't recommend trying to format the SD card via windows (assuming that's what you were intending to try). I'm not sure what the windows default for formatting is anymore, but I'd be surprised if windows didn't still default to some version of FAT, as Microsoft tends to use their own stuff for the most part. If you do try manually, be sure to format it as UDF, which is what these cards come formatted as by Phillips Respironics.
The SD card should *not* need to be associated to you as a patient. My local DME loaded the whole system, and entirely separately from them I've been using my own EP 2.2 to view my data, daily, for two months now. Never changed the card/patient registration at all. All I did was create a 'new patient' in my copy of EP 2.2 and download the data to that 'patient' instance each time, without ever resetting the actual patient info set by my DME on the card. Whenever I want to change settings I just do it on the machine and never bother with actual patient management in EP 2.2, I use the program only for viewing data and reports.
Hope some/any of this helps. Best of luck.

Re: ReadingSD card
Thinking i had same problem and unplugged card reader and then removed it from computer-plugged it back in and let it redown load and it worked--something about dont hook up till you have software on puter first----
Re: ReadingSD card
I tried my Encore Pro 2.2 with my PR System One today and the software reads the SD card just fine and downloads into my profile that I set-up. The therapy data didn't supply much info other than time of day and dates used. I didn't see any snoring, apnea, or anything that would provide me any info on my therapy and how well it is helping. Did I miss something? My model number is the DS250P. Any help would be appreciated.
Re: ReadingSD card
ronster2 - You have the "PLUS" model (at least that is what you show in your profile) and that will only give you compliance data (how often and how long you used it).
To get detailed data you would have to upgrade to a "PRO" or an "AUTO" model.
If you have not had it very long you MAY be able to get the DME to exchange it for at least a "PRO". Then your software will give you detailed data such as events like apneas and hypopneas and when they happened during the night.
Software is really no use with a "PLUS" model.

Re: ReadingSD card
That figures. So the SD card is useless in this machine other than letting the clinic know the machine is being used. What a waste....Hawthorne wrote:ronster2 - You have the "PLUS" model (at least that is what you show in your profile) and that will only give you compliance data (how often and how long you used it).

I hoped I was missing something in the help files, but apparently not. Thanks for your confirmation.
Re: ReadingSD card
Sorry but that's all the Plus machine will tell you or the DME.

Doze, if I hve been downloading the data daily to my EP 2.2 and checking the option to leave the dat aonthe card, will my Doc still be able toaccess the info on the card whrn I take it in iin 5 weeks, will he know I have been reading my own data?Doze wrote: The SD card should *not* need to be associated to you as a patient.
