See the NEW RESMED S9. It looks like a dock for your iPod !!

Post by golmos » Fri Feb 19, 2010 10:49 am

You must see this NEW RESMED S9. It looks like a dock for your iPod !!

Will be launched in the UK market in 7 days. I suppose is a pilot ground to the national roll over on the US and worldwide

Looks more a lifestyle gadget instead of a medical device. Is increible the capacity of innovation of Resmed.

Resmed are making progress...

-I would like to have seen a small button at the mask end of the hose by which the blower can be turned on/off.

-I think this machine will be easier to pack than the football shaped S8 but that top knob may get in the way

-I won't be the first to purchase one... will wait to see if there are any issues with it first.

Hi - it looks awesome!!! WOW it does look like a clock radio from the future. HAHHAAHA! the link worked fine for me so I was able to view it. I really like the changes --but like the pevious poster said --I don't want to be the first to buy one. Look a the iPHONE for example. All those people stood in line for days to get one only to find out that they paid lots of money for a defective phone. I don't want to be a human "beta tester" for them so I am going to wait awhile to see what comes of this,
Carrie

Is strange that some people cannot see the link correctly... perhaps the resmed site redirects you directly to the US website by tracking your IP address located in the US... I can see it from south america...

Anyhow packit in has sent a new link.

totally agree with sleeplessinaz... test wait and see.

Best wishes,

The links will not allow me to see the S9 unit . . it says that the site is not available to my location in Canada.

Wow. That machine is gorgeous! I have a feeling my trusty 'lil Divillbis IntelliPAP is going to be with us for quite a while, but you never know - maybe I'll need a spare!

Look at the address bar for your link -- do you have UK or US in it?
My experience with ResMed's site is that it often switches me automatically to another site based on my IP -- it doesn't '"prohibit" it just attempts to be ... ahem..."helpful".

If you get US (or CA) in your IE (or Firefox) address, try editing it to UK.

If you have trouble with the movie links, try "gb" after the "en_"

Wondering about the cost. And it looks to me like there is one model only with Autoset? What's the USA release date? Is there a manual yet available for this beast? A clinician's manual? Tnx.

Well this machine does look pretty intriguing. I am still just blown away that this company could fail so completely with correcting an admitted production defect in their nasal pillows (for both Swift LT as well as Liberty, in my experience), while focusing on producing a more sophisticated machine. Boggles my mind. The most sophisticated machine in existence will not significantly increase therapeutic effectiveness if a mask has pillows that need to be continuously replaced due to materials failure...since most people won't bother to keep spending the money to get pillows replaced, unless insurance will buy into that scam. I obviously continue to question ResMed's integrity, and their failure to acknowledge the actual product-using patients as their consumers!

End of rant. For now.
